I'd love to see it, but Greg seemingly has to have a big #9 and with tall CBs I think we need a big body solely to defend set pieces from Netherlands.
Tomorrow members of #BerhalterOut and members of the #BerhalterBrigade will sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
Not at all. We are all fans together. I watched the US lose to Brazil in 1994 in an all Brazilian bar. They were very nice about it. Then again, being around all those gloating Americans afterwards might be hard for you to take.
If I was Sargent, I’d swallow a ton of ibuprofen and be like I’m fine. Pain isn’t anything but a motivator. Honestly, if it’s just a 3 day boo-boo, that’s just a bruise. You can suck that up and play through. Granted, if you’re injured, you’ve got to be straightforward with that.
Think you have to start Pulisic, let him go as far as he can, then bring on Gio to replace him. You don’t want to sub Pulisic in, then have to sub him out because he can’t go or is clearly ineffective. Ideally Pulisic goes 60-70, then in come Gio and he score the winning goal.
NYC has to have a Dutch bar somewhere. That's where I would go. I watched Italy win it all at an Italian place in the Village.
Yea, it's Hurley's Saloon. But then I would transfer the same awkwardness issue to my US friend. Watched the first two games there.
Doubt there's a soccer bar on Staten Island. Communist sport and all.....that's Yankee/Mets territory, ad nausea....
Really hard to know Gregg’s opinion of Jesus right now. I could be convinced of literally anything at the 9 - from Sargent to Morris to Aaronson and anything in between. And I’d still feel confident about winning.
I've watched Colombia-Argentina games at Colombian bars in NJ with Colombian friends. There's always a few Argies who show up and cheer their team. And they walked out with on two feet. I'd say go to the bar and cheer your team.
After they had fled from Brazil....I used to do fishing reports decades ago for NYC. I used to get the Dutch names wrong, like Spite and Divil for Spuyten Duyvil....what's funny is my wife of 31 years is Colombian so I watch a lot of the games on Spanish tv....she was doing the bracket at work and was asking me who is Paises Bajos....which she knows as Holanda. I asked what does that mean, she said Low Countries...
Berhalter has fairly consistently gone with functional mids over creative or attacking mids. Aaronson plays a-mid in the EPL. Reyna plays across attacking midfield in the B1. Mihailovic was one of the top attacking mids in MLS. Berhalter has chosen to go in another direction. When he'd used a cam in a 4231, he went with the likes of Lletget and McKennie. There's no guesswork here.
