Michael Chirinos will sign a 1 year deal with Volos FC of the SuperLeague Greece, they are currently in 5th place on the table. I knew that his actions in the Concacaf League would lead to good things, now more teams in Greece are becoming aware of Hondurans.
Yeah it’s a solid league and one that more Central Americans should be aiming for that and the Portugal league wether it be 1st or 2nd Division honestly.
Denil Maldonado is very likely to go on loan to reigning MLS champions LAFC for 1 year as both Motagua and LAFC have already an agreement. Denil also has an option in Europe in Russia but due to the War and economics of the deal it is unlikely even though it is said that He prefers a deal to go to Europe. https://www.diez.hn/legionarios/den...-fc-mls-temporada-2023-futbo-rusia-LF11360874
Idk how I feel about all of our young guys going to the MLS but LAFC is a great landing spot, my hope though is that he will get more concrete offers from 1st Division European teams that aren’t Russian.
Denil is going to be pivotal to our progress in the next 2/3 years. It's so important whichever team he lands in, that he plays regularly football. My worry is, if he goes to LAFC that he might end up playing with their second team. If he goes to Russia, although the standard is high, with their teams being shut out the path to progression might be a little less straightforward. Best of luck wherever he goes though!
According to sources in Greece, Anderlecht of Belgium have offered 3 million Euros to Aris for Luis Palma. Idk how to feel, Anderlecht have historically been a big club in Belgium but are not having a great season this year. I’m surprised at the fee if it is real.
I wouldn't be against that move. The Belgian league seems to alternate which teams are at the top so it could ba viable option to qualify for Europa/Conference league. Would be a shame if he lost all the momentum he's made with Aris though.
Club Brugge have dominated the last few years, Anderlecht was 3rd at the table last year but have fallen to 12 this year and would be an uphill battle to qualify for Europa/Conference. Idk but as long as Palma stays in 1st Division Europe it’s fine, if the sale is made then hopefully Aris are looking at other Hondurans. Edwin Rodriguez will likely not be bought
Luis Palma does it again, Goal and assist in a Greek Cup game vs Levadiakos the team of Alfredo Mejia winning 2-1. Edwin Rodriguez also made his official debut playing 45 mins.
Looks like Palma will likely stay a bit longer in Greece unless a bigger offer is made for him, Aris apparently are very high on Luis Palma and are asking for at least 5 million Euros and they believe that they will get more offers for him down the road. I would like for him to finish this season at least considering his form right now, he could realistically reach double digits in goals for Aris and improve his stock.
So a MLS team bid 2 million euros for Palma and was rejected, hopefully they stay away and don’t try to ruin his career trajectory. Same thing happened with Bryan Acosta who at the time was on the verge of jumping to La Liga and FC Dallas came in and bought him despite that he wasn’t going to be the type of player that was going to help them win any championships. That move to the MLS regressed his playing level.
I remember, Acosta had a good spell with Tenerife. Even if he stayed playing in Segunda, I would have preferred that then going to MLS. It's definitely regression but I'm guessing it's marginally more lucrative? On transfermarkt he is still valued at $2 million, which I'm surprised about. I guess the only saving grace about Denil to LAFC is that he is going to arguably the best MLS side, and with that he'll be playing alongside very good, albeit aged players. Imagine Chiellini as his mentor!
Yeah FC Dallas gave him a DP contract so that likely meant that he was given a salary close to 1 million, in the second division of Spain most players top out at 500k euro salary so I can see why he took the money but he was never going to achieve anything in Dallas.
Michaell Chirinos has officially signed a 1 year contract with Volos FC of the Super League Greece. With Chirinos officially signing he becomes the 5th Houndran in the Greek League this season.
Got to say, props to Deybi and Palma for ope opening these doors. Grateful to the Greek league at the moment for what they are doing for our football. Denil Maldonado to LAFC today as well! These moves can't be deemed a success in themselves though, it's so important to get consistent minutes or better solidify a position in their respective clubs. Also seems like Jonathan Rubio is having a turnaround in fortunes recently after some really poor transfer decisions, which is good to see.
Deybi, Palma and Alfredo are all starters on their teams though, Alfredo should have never left Greece to begin he was starting with all the teams he played on. Idk if Chirinos will have much of an Impact this season but Volos are in a good spot being 5th place on the table, Edwin is on a loan and I doubt that he gets bought but hopefully Aris will try to go for a loan extension. Jonathan Rubio’s decision to leave Tondela for a second division team is one of the dumbest moves he could have taken, he started nearly all games for them in 1st Division and could have easily continued for an extra year to raise his stock. He is having a solid year but it’s no guarantee that he will be playing in 1st Division next year.
Both Alberth Eli’s and Rigo Rivas have the possibility of playing in 1st Division next year via promotion. Still very early but both teams are competing for the top spot
Dude was upset about not getting transferred but needs to suck it up and power through it, Bordeaux are in a great position and he needs to contribute.
Agreed, it must have been a considerable financial incentive offered by the club at the time. Which I think it was Chaves that eventually got promoted after he left. Bouncing from club to club has really impacted his progression, hoping he can eventually makes it back to Primera though. Elis is at a crossroads, I briefly saw from a YouTube channel (Geovany Yanes, not sure if anyone else watches it?) that Boavista might be interested in taking him back but then if Bordeaux get promoted.... it's a tough one!
Nah it was pure speculation based on the fact that both clubs played a friendly, that wouldn’t be a unrealistic possibility that he goes back to Boavista though since I believe that both clubs have the same ownership.
Olimpia signs Kevin Lopez to a 2 year contract, they are going all in for the 1st edition of the Copa Centroamerica. They are also trying to sign Alexy Vega too
Tryna sign Rubilio Castillo too. Only club that got it like that. Motagua rely on bank laundery. Atalas...
