Well, Korea taking care of business. That was such a beautifully, perfectly executed goal. fantastic. Seeing Uruguay going out.... delightful. I was hoping a Ghanaian goal would knock them out, but this is nice.
That was epic how they cut to Suarez to see how distraught he was after finding out South Korea had scored, so as of this moment Uruguay are now going out. That made it worth it.
What a snap header by Cavani and amazing save by the Ghanaian keeper. Too bad it was offside. It was a dramatic moment nonetheless.
Uruguay broke the spirit of the game with scuzzy play and the remedy in the laws of the game were entirely inadequate. That should be "goal awarded" in that situation, no PK. The fact that that hasn't been changed is a travesty. I will be so, so happy if Ghana can deny Uruguay.
At what point does it end being a PK and begin automatically having a goal rewarded? Yes in this case the ball would have definitely gone over the line had Suarez not handled. But there will be other situations that are more murky that I don't feel leaving up to "in the opinion of the referee."
That was egregious... this is why I'm kinda a fan of sin bins, it feels harsh to punish that with a card, but it needs to be punished somehow...
The fact that some thinking has to be given into how to determine if a ball is or is not heading in is not an argument that for such cases a goal should simply be awarded. Perhaps "obviously heading into goa and stopped by handling within 6 yard box" This isn't a difficult problem to solve
