Watching the Ecuador/Senegal match. Really impressed with both teams. Ecuador doesn't have any brand-name players at top clubs but their attackers are strong, fast and skillful. Senegal is more than just a Mane-led team. Their #13 Ndiaye is a quality player. Surprised he's playing for Sheffield United. Too bad one of them will be eliminated.
Tunisia beat France in Group D. This gives hope. Of course, we need to be luckier than Tunisia, because Australia beat Denmark to go through.
Cho's following has gone exponential....Son must be a little jealous https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/south-korean-football-player-gone-070848566.html
Heres the thing....you can be the finest talent and not be aboe to score goals ag WC will almost be frowned upon Likewise you can be a moderate talent and if you score goals on the biggest stage or in clutch situations.....you can literally clock your ticket on that alone Scoring goals in clutch situations is one of the biggest things a scout will pick up on Chos future is looking a lot better than it did a month ago Plus hes good looking
Careful. Some people on this board will lose their mind at the mere thought that we have a weaker team than Japan.
I hate Japan as much but it is a fact that Japan is better than us now.. Let's not get blinded by our hatred. Imagine what would've happened if they had a world class striker.. KFA srsly should learn from them and start building for long-term goals.
I get the impression that Bento has been working on offensive teamwork a lot more than defensive cohesion. I wish it were the other way around - I think working on defense is more valuable in the NT setting, especially for a WC underdog squad. Japan is staying so centrally compact yet again against Spain, and it's working. We need to do the same against Portugal, but I'm not sure if we have the defensive organization to pull it off. Remember how Japan tried this tactic against Brazil while we insisted on playing offensively against them? I knew that was a waste of a great opportunity. Bento did some things well over these past 4 years, but he ultimately stayed way too loyal to his tactical vision and to some of his players (KCH, NSH, HUJ) when he should have been exploring alternatives. He's just not pragmatic enough, and I'd even argue that he is naive. Not someone you want for a WC underdog team.
Germany is in our shoes now.. They probably expected Spain to beat Japan lol. We expected Mexico to win but they didnt and we couldnt advance..
Japan was in our shoes - needed to win the game and needed the higher ranked team to win. We need to beat Portugal and we need Uruguay to beat Ghana who are on paper favorites but likely not in practice.
KFA really needs to be restructured from the top down. Also, Korean "fans" need to stop chasing brand names and begin supporting the domestic league. How do we ever expect to be a powerhouse in football if our domestic matches are always empty? Well played Japan. The gap grows even further.
just like inbreeding causes deformities, society needs lots of foreign influence otherwise we get left behind. we arn't smarter or better than everyone else. japan is smarter and more effective. (so we should learn from them?) for real
