And (either ironically or appropriately) you seem to have forgotten another Florida politician elected to statewide office dispatched by Trump. . . Sleepy Jeb Bush.

This absolute fraudulent clown never had a case to start with but he dragged those poor folks to hell for political expediency. Now you can bet that this news below will not be headline news. In the meantime, he has poisoned the well.

Florida prosecutors have dropped charges against one of the 20 people accused by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) of voting illegally in 2020, the Miami Herald reports.

The decision means state officials avoid potentially having a second voter fraud case thrown out by a judge in as many months.

We recently moved so I called the elections board to see what I do with the mail in ballot with the old address on it. Lady tells me "oh just cross out your new address and write in the new one" I'm like "oh no. You're not gonna Florida me. I'll just vote in-person" She didn't get the joke.

I think Rick Wilson has long said that Con DeSantis cannot hope to thrive under the intense national spotlight that a presidential run entails.

He sounds like someone who has little to no self confidence. He doesn't want to hang with other Governors because he knows they all think he's a boot-licking toady.

Then he should win the nom. Serves America right for even considering him as a candidate.

He's Yale, Harvard Law & US Navy. So a wet dream resume for any pol. Even captained Yale's baseball team. Never said he could be a 1st rounder like Donnie hilariously claimed.

But all that doesn't really matter in the Performative Idiot era of Republicanism. If anything he has to dumb it down closer to MTG levels.

    Is this photo real?
How much of a schmuck do you have to be to brag on an Ivy athletic career that does not involve hockey?? Who tf cares about Yale baseball?

You tell me you played at USC, or South Carolina, or LSU or Mississippi State or Texas or one of the programs in Death Santis' own state, I'm impressed. You went to Yale, you didn't play hockey, just show me the damn transcript.

I'd throw in Princeton basketball as an exception but your point is well taken. I wouldn't be surprised if his campaign released this. There seems to be an increased flow of stupid people onto political staffs.

What's disturbing is that it seems the pol has to have had some kind of regular life to be considered worthy of our votes.

I'm not interested in my governor's batting average or ppg or yards per carry. I don't want to have a beer with the governor (My governor is Meemaw anyways, so it'd probably be tea or something). I want my pols to be smarter than average.

This is how we got actors in the WH in 1980 and 2016 after true public servants in 1976 and 2012.

Yeah it's not the SEC but it's not D3 either. I despise this clown but he has a resume you'd see more with a Democrat

Actually, the SEC is not the baseball conference it is as a gridiron conference. They've had a few schools win natties, but only LSU. MSU and Vanderbilt have multiples, IIRC.

He does have a Democratic sheen to his resume- no ass-backwards religious schools or some such shit. But he's on the other team, and cannot be allowed to succeed.

Rick Wilson nailed it...... De Santis is Jeb V2.0.

Rick Wilson: “Ron DeSantis is a strange no-eye-contact oddball. Is he smart? At least academically, but smart and electable aren’t an overlapping Venn diagram. Is he a great candidate? Get the ******** out of here. A conservative governor with infinite financial resources at his disposal running in a conservative state against a spent-force three-time loser hated by both his old party and his new party?”

“Winning Florida isn’t the flex DeSantis and his stans think it is.”

“There was a key moment that ensured Donald Trump would re-enter the 2024 race, and it came courtesy of Charlie Crist. There was a moment in the one debate between DeSantis and Crist where Charlie knocked Ron back hard. DeSantis stood there for a noticeably long pause before he could respond. Trump saw that. He processed that. He knew and assessed the weaknesses of DeSantis on the debate stage and in the media space, where he is the unquestionable master. He smelled blood. DeSantis of 2024 is the Jeb Bush of 2016; inevitable, beloved of the money people and the conservative intellectual class…until he’s not.”

Florida is probably the biggest state that has never sent someone to the White House.

Well, yeah, isn’t it #3 in population now? But obviously Cali had Reagan and Nixon, New York had several, and Texas had 2 Bushes and a Johnson.

(I wrote this post just so I could write those last 7 words.)
