I think Rick Wilson has long said that Con DeSantis cannot hope to thrive under the intense national spotlight that a presidential run entails.

What's disturbing is that it seems the pol has to have had some kind of regular life to be considered worthy of our votes. I'm not interested in my governor's batting average or ppg or yards per carry. I don't want to have a beer with the governor (My governor is Meemaw anyways, so it'd probably be tea or something). I want my pols to be smarter than average. This is how we got actors in the WH in 1980 and 2016 after true public servants in 1976 and 2012.

Actually, the SEC is not the baseball conference it is as a gridiron conference. They've had a few schools win natties, but only LSU. MSU and Vanderbilt have multiples, IIRC.
