Messi dropped 3-4 perfect passes for Acuna but he didn't take advantage of any of them to put a pinpoint Molina-like pass. The one shot that went wide was really good though.
I'm comfortable with either Tag or Acuna.
More important is that Molina played a good match. Should be confident now.

Just realized we only have 3 days to rest before Australia. Should have rested Messi for Dybala after the 2nd goal.

Rest of team should be ok except maybe RDP. Have you every seen a player with so much energy?

I wonder if Dybala can overtake Lautaro for the first attacking sub.

    Julian will start next game.

Great picture. Three of my all time favourites right there. Batigol, the wonderful wonderful Sorin and the Captain himself JZ4.

Scaloni says that Di Maria felt tightness in his quads. Hopefully nothing.

Lol classic Di Maria. This is why he should have been rested more in the group stage.

Australia will be bunker. Only 3 days rest. Good opportunity to rest him since he's less effective in those matches.

Australia will go for 0-0 and try to get us on penalties like they did Peru. We have extra time though so be patient.

    Interesting facts about Julian Alvarez:

Debut as a starter in Copa Libertadores: GOAL (vs. Inter de Porto Alegre)

Debut as a starter in Premier League: GOAL x 2 (vs. Nottingham Forrest)

Debut as a starter in Champions League: GOAL (vs Copenhagen)

Debut as a starter for the NT: GOAL (vs. Ecuador)

Debut as a starter in World Cup: GOAL (vs. Poland)

Mac Allister's class and Premier League experience is really showing. Good in tight spaces with no time, good in possession, good vision and passing. Only critique is I would like to see him tackle better. I don't like Mac as a pure DM or #5, he is a good #8.

Enzo had a rough start but after Messi told him to calm down, he was amazing. He is more dangerous in advanced positions. Another good #8, not a #5.

Julian had a nice game and should get even better with more confidence now.

I wonder how Scaloni will manage the short rest (only 2 full days). Honestly if Di Maria is not fit, I wouldn't hesitate to sit him.

Let Molina run on that right side as we do when Di Maria comes off, and play a midfield of De Paul - Paredes - Mac - Enzo. Let Enzo run free in more advanced positions. We even saw him get down the left flank and provide that beautiful cross to Messi late in the game.

Last of all, I want to see Enzo in a position to shoot from outside the box (left side). The kid just has it and even his passes have a beautiful curl to them.

Zanetti and Batigol were among my favorites as well. Had a chance to meet Bati at the Hilton in Puerto Madeiro 12 years ago. He could not have ben more gracious spending a few minutes chatting and telling me about his new passion for horses and polo.

I'm not going to gloat, just going to say I am proud. The team in general is looking good. We are trending in the right direction.

Julian could have had a few goals today. He was so active across the whole front.

Messi needs to let Enzo F take the penalty duties if we get one at some point in the tournament. Messi's pen record is abysmal, especially if its a big game.

The bottom line is, this team is so much better with out the likes of Lautaro, Papu Gomez, Paredes, and the like. Nahuel Molina needs to take a sea too. I would really like to see the end of all these guys. I also want "Huevo" Acuña out. Don't understand the coach's obsession with this guy. Tagliafico all day.

Does anyone understand why Scaloni takes Di Maria off so early every game?

This team is very close to winning it all, but I worry Scaloni could make a bone headed move and cost Argentina the tournament

Well Argentina finally showed up at this World Cup and it was good to see. Scaloni seems to have found his side, perhaps more by accident than design. He's found his back four. There is no doubt Acuña and Molina have to start from now on. Both were excellent today. Midfield, again all three played well, a bit sloppy in the first half and a bit casual but you can't drop any of them because they all produced. Sometimes a team finds itself during a tournament and that's what's happened. For whatever reason, Enzo, Mac and Julian have found themselves in the side and all three have scored and played well, so that kind of makes Scaloni's mind up for him. That's the team.

We completely dominated and happily we created chances today, even if our finishing wasn't great. We started strking the ball about in Argentine fashion. Poland were abysmal. Messi was fantastic. Vamos Argentina.

By the way, we've been given two very soft penalties this World Cup, both when the score was 0-0. Their keeper had a great game.

I would say the key moment so far in this World Cup for us is when Scaloni made the changes on the hour mark against Mexico. Julian and especially Enzo completely changed the game, and perhaps they've changed our World Cup. That moment was key, not just because we won the game, but also because it forced Scaloni to change his team today, and now we look a completely different side.

I was very happy when I saw the line-up. This is a very technical side but also a very tough one. Every player played his part. Now the world will be looking at us with different eyes.

Scaloni likes playing three 8s in mid rather than a #5, #8, #10. Been the Hallmark of his squads.

Balanced mid that can finally link the defense with the attack so that Messi doesn't have to embarrassingly drop back to say hello to Ota and get a 2 meter pass from him.

Haha you want half the team removed. For sure you don't like Molina cause the alt would be River Montiel. Acuña & Tag are close but Molina owns the right flank.

Di Maria asked to be removed. Felt something in his quadriceps.

Lmao that read like pure river propaganda

It's never close between Acuna and Tag. Acuna made runs that Tag would never make in the first place.
Asking for Molina to be dropped after literally assisting is insane. Montiel was in shambles last game.

Tag is more reliable defensively. That's why it's close.
