Good speechwriter. According to the Post article, he also coined "the soft bigorty of low expectations."
Stood next to him for a while when he was in the crowd watching the opening act for a DK show in Omaha. October 30, 1985. I remember the date, because they played "Halloween" at midnight.
In the interest of not seeming to be a dick, I'm gonna say that I'm not quoting you here and there to trigger you- I'm not looking for your reply. But you say some shit that needs a reply everyone else here can read. You either see this here or you don't, because I won't be repeating it.
I don't have anyone on ignore for pages and pages, and I can't make any sense of this exchange.,, S'all right tho'-- I can live with the mystery, no need to explain.
While often controversial, Hebe de Bonafini - founder of Madres de Plaza de Mayo - remains a corageous historical figure whose leadership forced Argentina to face its darkest times. RIP Donald McEachin. Good man! He served his district and state well! His district included Richmond, Va. Rep. Donald McEachin (D-VA) died Monday of complications from cancer, just weeks after winning reelection to Congress, the Washington Post reports.
I am not privy to this information. I am simply paying my respects to a decent man. I knew of him well since he in a neighboring state and was a key democratic player there.
The attention to detail on the production of Rumours is off the chart. One of those occasions when sweating the details became VERY profitable. The fussing came mostly from Lindsey Buckingham, but hey Christine contributed her part, too.
I was a HS senior. The next day at school was pretty bizzarre. even the folks who didn't care for Lennon post-Beatles knew there'd be no reunion that day...
Grant Wahl has passed away while covering Arg x Netherlands match today. RiP NPR can confirm the death of longtime soccer sportswriter Grant Wahl (@GrantWahl). He died today in Doha, Qatar while covering the Argentina-Netherlands World Cup quarterfinal. Story to come.— Russell Lewis (@rdlewis) December 10, 2022
So sad to hear about Grant. As others have said, he was a pioneer in US soccer journalism, and played a big part in media influence as the game grew over the past 20 years. Back in the day, I was a fanzine writer/editor/publisher and the Revs actually gave us quasi-hooligans press credentials. I remember having a discussion with Wahl about various MLS topics and he was very genuine, very gracious and an all around good guy. He was happy to talk soccer even to a nobody like me. The fact that he got in trouble for wearing a rainbow T-shirt and refused to change, as a supporter of the LGBTQ community says a lot about his character. The world needs more people like him and fewer like those who are too quick to compromise out of personal convenience. We'll miss you, Grant, a good man gone way too soon
