Did I read correctly that DC United is charging fans to watch the World Cup Final at Audi Field. What is with that? Capital One Arena is showing the final for free, all you have to do is sign up for tickets.

Huh, I rarely open DCU mail any more, but for those of you closer to the mountains, Loudoun United is hosting a watch party in Ashburn, I assume it's free and my rep didn't mention rsvp, just said this in his latest email

Also, I wanted to invite you out to our watch party at Bar Louie – One Loudoun Saturday at 10am for USA v. Netherlands.

    non-USA-related......
If any of you are thinking about season tix there next year, they now have a referral program; so use my name (I assume everyone everywhere knows fatbastard, but you can DM me for my real name :)) before ordering so I get a prize :D

I'm not sure we'll even get a partial plan, but we'll probably go to some Loudoun United, and Washington Spirit games next year.

If DC United want to charge money for a World Cup Finals viewing party, and people are willing to pay it, good for United.

I can understand paying for the food option, but for purely viewing purposes it makes no sense to change. There are plenty of free viewing options to watch the final. Heck, even Capital One Arena is hosting a FREE viewing party, you will still have to pay for the beer.
Has United released any details on the viewing party yet or will they wait till the Friday before to announce anything?

Ok, I signed up via their e-mail sign-up form and have not heard jack sh*t! What exactly is this priority access they are talking about? The FO media team needs to really get their stuff together. Their little "LearnI signed up for email updates and nothing, I follow United on Facebook and have not heard anything, and I do not do Twitter. So basically, they assume that United fans only use Twitter. What a joke!

The watch party was announced on Facebook on Friday evening. Before the Twitter announcement, even.

I looked and never saw it at all on Facebook. It was not in any of my feeds or on the United page, at least for me.
