I’d probably sign him either way. Given our long term interest, I assume they have a very high opinion of him and a long term vision for his integration into the team. That really shouldn’t change even if we sign somebody else to be near-term cover for Partey. Question is who is that player?

Yeah that was pretty much the key takeaway I got from the AV pod.

Thank you for pointing that out. I heard that entirely wrong. My only excuse is that it was on in background while I was working on something else. Should know better than to post about something I only half heard! Actually my other excuse is that they were talking about how we were in for Raphina who would've been right-sided comp for Saka.

Anyway, if we sign Mudryk who is supposedly more left-side dominant, it'll be interesting to see if he might also be used as cover on the right also. AND it'll be interesting to see what his arrival would imply about ESR's future role. It feels like Emile's career is poised in a very slight bit of jeopardy and that this next recovery and re-assimilation may be the most important of his time at Arsenal?

Ismael Bennacer has supposedly switched agents with the intent of moving back to England. He is said to favor London. 24yo former Arsenal academy that plays a similar role to Partey.

I saw a link of us with him last week, but the story said that ACM wanted >30M + Partey in exchange. At that point, I knew it wasn’t worth reading any further.

hard to know if we are really after Bannacer, or whether we are being used to raise his price.

That would be a ridiculous price. Transfermarkt has him at 40m and on top of that he will have 12 months left on deal this summer.

I just assume these days clubs link us just to drive the price up.

Imagine what they do to Chelski. FBREF has a disclaimer calling out Todd Boehly by name.

Declan rice is not the one as a single pivot. He’s a box to box player or sitter in a 2

he’s not good enough in the ball which is what England found vs the USA press

man, that's eternally the case with italian clubs: you try to buy players from them and they want fort knox and change then when they try to buy players from you, they cry poverty and how they can barely afford footballs for practice.

Speaking of Italian clubs... With Juventus looking like they could be in significant legal trouble, they could be forced to sell in order to balance the books. Wouldn't mind kicking the tires on Locatelli, Chiesa and/or McKennie.

i do wonder if josh ever asks eduteta to look at/give considerations to mckinnie, adams, or pulisic as possible players that would also be marketing piece.

I'm not sure if Pulisic makes sense for us. He is talented but...
    A) he is older than our current starters and I'm not sure he beats either out
    B) I'm not sure he is really suited to the EPL. Gets pushed off the ball far too much. Think he is best suited for Germany or Italy.

Adams & McKinnie I like alot. Both have a little "swiss army knife" to them and could help in a number of areas immediately. I could see both being able to start for us (Adams for Partey & McKennie for Xhaka) in the near future.

I don't think KSE would go so far as to say "Buy an American" but maybe it could be, if Edu/Arteta find an American they like, KSE would be willing to pay above the budget due to the potential marketing opportunities.

Really hard to imagine us prying Adams away from Marsch and Leeds. (I think he's got years still on his contract) But I'd take that in a heartbeat. I've loved him since he was a youngster at NYRB. It's not easy to find an elite #6 and that he seems to be becoming.

Pulisic might jump at the chance to leave Chelsea but I'm not sold on him being a good fit for us, rather than destabilizing. He should go to a "lesser" team to get serious PT.

McKennie? Also, it's not clear he's a fit for our needs. And in my gut, the jury's still out on him. Whether that's totally fair or not.

Agreed. Would love to have him but we missed our opportunity for now. If/When Leeds gets relegated the opportunity to snag him increases significantly.

Agreed. Not sure he fits the system but I also think when he leaves Chelsea he will be looking for a starting spot. If I were him, I would head back to Germany or go to Italy. Think he would fair much better in those leagues.

Watching the WC, I see a guy that could fit in very well into Xhaka's role. Not sure he is ready to take it immediately but the bonus to him until then is that he can play just about anywhere in a pinch. He is tall (6'), strong, defensively sound, creative and has very good movement. Needs to work a bit on his temper (hasn't shown it this tournament), finishing & focus (makes some bad passes at times) but could be a very good CM.

Adams would be a really, really good inverted RB, like a right sided Zinchenko. Thought that would be a great role for him before White established himself at RB, but now between him and Tomi, not sure there would be a need for Adams in that specific role.

The vast majority of the times I've seen him play are in the base of MF. I think that's what he likes, where he sees himself, and what's perhaps the best value. Although he has played RB a few times in his past I seem to recall, I think at this point it should only be in an "emergency" situation.

We looked at him for that role before we signed Tomi. I believe Tomi was almost half what Leipzig wanted at the time. I agree that he would be very good in that spot. Also think there is a decent chance that he could take over for Partey.

we are linked with bennacer as he was here before and is leaving Milan.

The link I saw was Partey plus cash for Bennacer, which leads me to seriously question the source. Absolutely no way this happens, unless Arsenal have been tipped off he’s about to be indicted.

On that topic, the Athletic did another article today saying "unnamed Prem player accused of sexual assault has had his bail extended again through the end of January." As someone trained in how the American criminal justice system works, I find this all very strange.

Thanks you. Pulisic is so streaky. I'm not sold. He demands to start but he can't start IMO ahead of Saka and Martinelli.

Tyler hell yes. Bennacer is a baller but not sure about his fitness rather injury record.

The uncertainty around Jesus’ knee injury may change Arsenal’s transfer strategy in the January window, instead of a pure winger like Mudryk, Arsenal may need to target a player that can play both through the middle and on the wing.
