Root for Australia and Saudi Arabia. If Australia holds on, Saudi Arabia wins, and Poland and Argentina tie, the winner of US-Netherlands will face the winner of Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals. There are no easy games in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, but I'd rather not face Messi and Argentina if possible.

Tunisia with the goal needed to spice up Australia v Denmark - the sort of goal that Wales might have scored yesterday (before we took the lead) to make Iran 'come out and play.'

Edit: And I see it didn't take long.

Denmark was so good in the Euros that I feel like everyone had them picked as the darkhorse in this tournament. But they haven't really showed it yet.

This team of Aussie nobodies is really going to KO everyone’s favorite euro dark horse, isn’t it.

I also found interesting that they said during the broadcast that the Australia coach is specifically interested in coaching in MLS after the World Cup ends.

So much nicer watching these teams "suffer" while we've already qualified.

Tunisia goes from “we’re going through!!!” to “we’re out and here comes Mbappe too” in a heartbeat.

Denmark are doing their best to make Wales look good. It's rather neighborly of them...

I'm beginning to think that success at the Euros is a curse. I mean, we can ask the current Euro champions what they think of that...

I suppose we had a slight warning of Australia's class when they had the run of play against Peru.

    Typical 2000s Brazil - grinding out a 1-0 result

Alternatively, when did Norwich City get this good?

Fair, but it's also fair to say that Denmark have been consistently unimpressive this tournament. They've been even worse in the final third than we have been.

Denmark looks like this is a random friendly.

I had a similar thought the other day when two teams played in Chelsea and Leeds United colours :)

Our quarterfinal match-up, should we get that far, could very realistically be against the winner of Australia and Poland/Saudi Arabia. That's as favorable as it gets.

Got to hope Poland can at least net the draw against Argentina. Have mixed thoughts on whether I want Mexico to advance or not. They couldn't be our opponent anyway.

They keep letting Australia look like they're home to some of the most technical dribblers on earth... dudes in the A-Leage are out here dribbling PL and La Liga defenders...

I don’t care how much better quality Champions League is, you can not tell that the World Cup is not the pinnacle of this sport.

    NOTHING matches THIS.

Well, we are definitely not the most un-fancied team in the R16, that's for sure...
