Neither he nor Wright should see the field again. If they do, we can add it to the pile of very legitimate Berhalter criticism. I understand, to some degree, why Gregg has been reluctant to integrate a teenager like Scally into the squad. But if the US needs a goal on Saturday and he doesn't turn to Joe, he has no one to blame but himself.
you and me both like the peat bogs I guess. And the Laphroaig bottle is green so it should fit in nicely from a color scheme.
Pre-injury Schalke Jones was not the force that Adams is today. Better in the attack, but not as good in every other department, IMO. If you let me choose between them, I'd choose Adams.
half of greggs roster shouldnt be in qatar meanwhile there are alternative players playing well in germany, france, netherlands, belgium etc not in qatar with this team like they should be
Really feel for the Iranian players 🤝 ¡Qué hermoso es el fútbol! ✌🏻🕊 🇺🇸 🇮🇷🫂 Ramin Rezaeian, jugador de #IRN, fue consolado por jugadores de #USA luego de quedar fuera de la #FIFAWorldCup.🤜 Una imagen muy emotiva.#MundialTelemundo pic.twitter.com/J8bytmrhCO— Telemundo Deportes (@TelemundoSports) November 29, 2022 Tim Weah + USA stars consoled Iran's ace as he sat crying. Human moment. Lovely words.Weah: I wanted to spread peace and love. We grew up differently. He's still my family, still my brother. I stayed away from this board for most of the World Cup so far, partially because I was on vacation and partially because I knew the negativity would be unbearable even after a game like England, much less Wales. But I came back primarily because I thought there might be some more interesting and reasonable takes after making it through .. but no, it's pretty terrible here. It can take all kinds, but many of us just want a group as passionate as us to celebrate with. I am down for reasonable critical discussion, but holy shit, can we at least acknowledge we won? But seriously, are you not happy at all? In that case, I actually do feel for you. The very best sports experiences of my life have all been when a team or program starts to improve and no one expects it. Expectations are a bitch. The moment wins are a relief and not a joy ... that just kind of sucks. To skip the rise is to miss the best part. We spend all this timing analyzing for this -- once every four years! That's bad enough that people don't seem to enjoy qualifying or the Gold Cup or Nations League, but now ... the only time they enjoy are the games against talent better than ours? I would not trade my perspective for yours for sure.
lol....name another coach in this world cup who was fired from the swedish league? arena couldnt beat trinidad with a world cup berth on the line bob bardley....couldnt do anything with LaAFC...and his replacement comes in and wins MLS cup in first year of coaching....bunker bob also flopped in the EPL sampason 3-6-1 bora???? lol...good coach actually but it didnt matter then. klinsmann was a joke. the USMNT hasnt had their "Belichick" or Poppovich or Wooden etc yet... its the final piece of the puzzle
We just made it out of the group by winning a game in which our star attacker got injured scoring the winning goal, have not allowed a single goal apart from a Bale PK on a fluke Zim miscue, and the same voices are all screaming that Berhalter's an idiot for not playing whoever their favorite today is. It's really, really tiresome, and isn't remotely analysis.
CILANTRO DOES TASTE LIKE SOAP AND ILL STAND AT THE TOP OF THAT MOUNTAIN FOR THE REST OF MY LIIIIIFEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the Wales/Iran joint team would win. You're just listing names. Your CB+GK combo is what, Richards (who is injured!) + McKenzie and Gabriel Slonina. At like 19. Good, good. We have a bright future, but you've removed our best attacker, our keeper, all of our centerbacks, our LB and one of our starting CMs (which is the strength of the squad), then combined TWO World Cup level opponents...
I don't drink much but I couldn't imagine not enjoying the peat. My wife can't stand to be in the same room when I drink an Islay single malt, though (I'm a Lagavulin guy myself, but I'd never turn down a Laphroig). The smell gets to her. A good friend of mine once described Laphroig as "like the sterilized bandages left behind in a hospital that burned down... but in the best way possible." I agree. My son tastes only soap when cilantro's in a dish in any minute amount. I love cilantro. It's hard to over-cilantro a dish for me....
All of this. I came here expecting a little mutual joy from some like-minded fans. Instead it was the same round of usual over-wrought complaints about Berhalter. What's even the point if you can't revel in the very real, and very important, successes?
Surreal: Fireworks reportedly from Saqqez #Iran tonight celebrating US win over Iranian team at World Cup. Saqqez is #MahsaAmini’s hometown, the woman whose death has sparked mass protests against regime https://t.co/1qoXxmBkfK— Joyce Karam (@Joyce_Karam) November 29, 2022
What they should really say is that Pulisic has a bad injury and won't be available on Saturday. Let the Dutch think that. And then he starts. Psych.
Jones would be an awesome super sub on this club but Tyler is just better, agree. He covers more ground has some things in attack Jones never did, at least not with us. Jones had a better shot that's about it. lol, I'm fine bro. We won the Game 2 years running and the US is onto the R16. Go USA and have a good night I'm not on your level with this conversation.
I actually love that. Never too early to start the mind games. That should have absolutely been a ploy.
I was devastated that Pulisic didn't get to play in 2018. In some ways, more than I felt bad for the rest of the team not getting to play. Him making that play, fighting like hell, getting the winning goal, that was awesome. I hope he can make it through to the group stage and keep on keeping on. There were a number of stories like that today. Watching the team celebrate -- who clearly know more about what it means to win these games than us -- and then reading here is a massive disconnect.
Dude, I’ve been following this program for 24 years. Frankly, really don’t need the condescending advice. Nothing I’ve said has distracted me from looking forward to the matches and enjoying myself. I was excited when we won. I apologize for not going all caps and exclamation points for you. You may not watch the game the way I do and that’s fine. I get passionate when we make things harder on ourselves and try to analyze the match or find a reoccurring pattern. In fact, I’ll probably rewatch. Nothing is going to change the fact that I have a higher valuation of the team potential than apparently you and many others, so we can drop the GB topic. I could also go on about the areas which have been really impressive too. GB is just a lightening rod on forums for the obvious problems he creates and if people would rather close their eyes with their fingers in their ears then more power to them.
I don't know, man. I think the analysis here has been decent. These long threads just get jumbled because they always devolve into an argument about Reyna or Pepi or Berhalter or something of that sort. I don't have anyone muted but there are a few whose posts I read faster than others. I put my thoughts in the individual threads. Overall, I'm thrilled. Still think it was the minimum I expected after the draw and I don't hate our matchup against Netherlands. Gregg has put together three great game plans and mismanaged the in-game adjustments to varying degrees but lesser each game imo. I'm cautiously optimistic, especially if Pulisic and Sargent can go. Don't know that I'd pick us but we have a puncher's chance at worst. Edit - clarity
