I want to thank BA for coming in and holding it together. It had nothing to do with coaching. We needed like for like and it was done. After that, good grief. That chicken shit at the end was u14 tournament coaching. I have never seen that at this level and don't ever want to see it again.
I think we match up real good with the Dutch. Frankie ain't gonna have the freedom to pick a team apart with Tyler up his bum. We gotta score. Send Landon and Clint down there to talk to Josh and Weah. Shoot.

There were several times when CCV, Zimmerman, or Turner barked at Shaq and he just didn't respond. Part of me wants to give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to the noise, but I think he just got lost in the occasion...

BA is quick and very smart. I just wished he had flat out speed to keep up with long plays.

We tied with a really good England side. So, we have right to dream the QF. No doubt Netherlands is more favorite than us, but we do have chance to win against them. For our R16 game with Netherlands, I am worried about fatigue issue more than anything else. I hope Pulisic can play against Netherlands. Mckennie did not play full 90 minutes in any of the world cup games so far and that makes me worried for our R16 game.

We advanced in spite of Berhalter. Better teams will beat that bunker, it gives the impetus to the other team to keep piling forward and chances will come.

MMA is our weakest link apart from a higher level 9. They had to play high and were leaking balls which our back line consistently cut out. Weah is first class and we saw what Pulisic did. A 9 and a balance midfield is what we lack. We will not get that in this cycle but I think we've got enough to beat Netherlands.

Our defence would have gone through the group stage with 3 clean sheets were it not for Acosta falling asleep on Wales quick throw-in.

So far only Netherlands equals USA's GA at 1 through group stage. England had 2GA.

The tag on Netherlands is that they have a good team with scoring questions - just like us !

They just said Pulisic is at the hospital with stomach injury. Hope it comes out all clear. Who scores if Pulisic isn't fit to go? Bet we'll see Reyna and Aaronson.

Adams was really good for us as game needed closing out.

I'm generally a fan of Shaq; but, he's looked like he's playing scared/trying to hard not to make a mistake - he's not going with the flow.

Came here to post something similar. I’m not sure the Dutch or Gakpo feel they have a problem scoring goals. Gakpo is co-leader in goals scored in the tournament.

For example, that strategy to defend a 1-0 lead against the Netherlands will lose 1-2

Questions for Greg: 1) Moore instead of Scally? 2) three games and 10 mins for Gio? 3) is there a more stationary #9 the Haji Wright? 4) Why so little time for Aaronson?

I just meant in the fact he cleared the ball from an open goal instead of giving up a pk.

The USA is undefeated through 3 matches and gave up only one goal so far (via a PK). They advanced out of the group and on to the knockout rounds. Nobody on the team accumulated two yellow cards, so everyone is still available for the Netherlands match on Saturday. Our young men played well, with a lot of passion and tenacity. Americans should be proud of their team!

Yep did the same, students didn't seem to mind. Called it a Geography lesson;) Although might be looking for new career if VAR had given that as a pen in the end.

All I ever ask for at the start of qualification is a birth in the Round of 16. Knockout football is a fickle beast, it favors the underdog and after watching 30+ years of the US Nats I think that's when we are at our best. Bring on Saturday!!

Congratulations on the win, you deserved it. Better team won.
A lot of exaggerated pre-match talk in the media about this game being politically charged, but I was happy to see that wasnt the case on the pitch. All players acted professionally and there were no controversies.

    Good luck against Netherlands!
