Going to Qatar 2022: tickets, accommodations, etc. (non-politics)

I carted a match 24 and wasn't able to pay due to all these errors - what an absolute shit

 

I managed to buy m60, but had to refresh multiple times every step of the way. This is embarrassing for FIFA. Maybe they will end up using Ticketmaster in 2026…

 

I haven't sent any of my guest tickets, so I have 2 tickets for every game im going to in my account. Would any of you recommend sending the tickets to my guest, or should I keep both tickets and scan them both on my phone at the stadium?

As of right now, if you are going with that other person, my recommendation would be to keep them in one phone .
I've sent tickets to my guests and spent some time in limbo during one of those app blackouts. No possibility even to recall them until the app got fixed

 

absolute disaster this ********ing site... we don't deserve this.. we spend many nights trying to buy a ticket...

 

4th time I queuef , 4th time it crashed with error 503

 

You have to keep refreshing, and eventually a page shows up where you can try and buy a ticket. Then if you cart, you refresh constantly through all the steps as the 503 error comes up.

It’s insanity.

Keep refreshing. The ticket is staying in your cart through the session.

 

So how long before kickoff should one head to stadium?? Just to be safe

 

Until your session times out... which just happened to me with tickets in cart.

The only thing that was working was the timer. I was watching the seconds tick down as I kept trying to move to the payment section. I lost the ticket. Super bummed.

Yeah I got 43 and 60. Got 24 already thanks to someone on here who was selling.

btw I think the resale portal is back to normal now, and tix are still popping!

 

With all the excessive walking that folks already in Doha are posting about, I would strongly recommend to get insoles from Dr. Scholl's. This is a wonderful remedy against heel issues, which crop up due to sudden spike in walking.

Before the match we were saying that this shirt maybe historical items for us, and now it is true!

You will get better answers about cancellation by searching this message board. Perhaps others can fill in. It is a 20min walk from both the Gold and Green metro lines which is convenient. When I arrived at the airport there was a guy with a sign that said Caravan City Shuttle. Ended up being a regular car that cost 90 Rial but was easy to get to.

 

After my experience at the SEN-NED trying to take my Canon R5 in, just decided to take my point and shoot only now on (since even they tried to not allow that either)

still got an amazing shot of Messi celebrating his goal so I am satisfied leaving the R5 at the apartment now.

When Qatar made the bid, one of the benefits they pitched is fans could see more than one game a day, since everything was so close.
