I will absolutely SHOCKED if this match is NOT on TV in the USA. Bayern Munchen is top of the table vs. Bayer Leverkusen, who are in 4th! This should be a very good match.

    I'm predicting a 2-2 draw.

    Be shocked no more....

Stuttgart v. Kaiserslauten on FSW. Imagine that. One Munich game this year. Ridiculous!!!!

This is probably the biggest game of the season for both teams. I can only imagine it is too expensive to televise, thus the "other" game.

How much will Landon play in this game?
    Hope he gets significant time.

Last ten minutes, probably. It'll depend on how the game is going.

I called FSW, and left them a NASTY MESSAGE, blasting them and calling them complete and useless morons. I told them chimps could do better.

How could you not show Munich v Leverkusen? It is a crime I tell you, a bloddy crime!!!!

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
    I AM FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe they will show it.........Leverkusen-4-2 Munich

I don't really think FSW has a choice in what they show. It's not a buffet and they pick what they like. They are limited in what games they can show.

You know, I wonder if Landon is available for this match. Isn't he already back in the US to prep for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago? I guess if he's not already here he'll be catching a flight ASAP after the game. Go Leverkusen!

No, he hasn't already left. He'll leave after the game. He's on the Bayer bench.

It's either ironic or highly logical that Ponte starts playing brilliantly as soon as Landon arrives - I can't figure out which. It's going to take two or three poor games in a fow from Ponte for Landon to get a start I would guess.

Donovan has entered that game at 73 minutes for Ponte according to the Sky Sports Live Score Center.

Does anybody know the terms of their contract? - Do they have their own choice of games every week for one price? - Or do they have a limited choice? - And are they required to show at least one (or two) games for of each team during the season? - Are some games with big name opponents (like this one) cost more than other games to televise? - Or are they all the same?

Still - This would have been THE game to televise - But maybe their waiting for LD to crack the lineup first - Maybe they knew he wasn't starting?

I seriously doubt that FSC is going to weigh their decision to show or not to show Leverkusen matches on whether or not "LD" gets in the starting lineup. last season they showed about 4 matches I believe. I was happy!! I hope guys who love LD so much, are genuinely interested in following the club, there is no I in TEAM. The erason I ask is cause, this is suppose to be a Munich v Leverkusen thread, but there are posts about LD instead of the TEAM and how the game is going or how they game went

Did anyone catch the match? I heard that the penalty was bogus! Any comments, how did Franca play? He has been on the bench for awhile. It would be good to see him back in form. What kind of formation did we use? 4-4-2? Maybe we ought to go to a 4-3-3?

As a matter of fact, yes, I did watch the match on the video link posted earlier in this thread. And indeed it was an absolutely bogus penalty. The Munich player just backed into the Leverkusen player (Nowotny, I believe) and bowled him over and they called the PK - and it was about 1:45 into added time on top of that. My hats off to the players, though. None of them lost their cool at the ref and didn't protest very much (possibly because it was soooo unbelievable that it was called!). Had that happened in MLS...I can only imagine the mahem that would have followed!

Unfortunately, that kind of took the wind out of their sails, I think. The coach was disgusted and just turned and walked through the tunnel. They did not come out fired up for the second half...and that proposes my question. How quickly does Coach Augenthaler tend to sub? Because I thought he waited way too late in the game to change things around. As I said, there was no bite in their game in the second half and they needed a spark. Finally in about the 70th minute, he subs in Babic, shortly thereafter Munich scores (tends to happen, I've noticed in games, that shortly after a sub, the other team mounts an attack) and then after the score, Donovan comes in. He and Babic tried to spark things and made a good combination play that forced a corner kick.

Course I'm an LD fan...and thus I am a Leverkusen fan. Berbatov missed a golden chance that he should have put away. The Polish player, Kroz...(sorry, can't remember how to spell it) missed an even better opportunity. I really think the bogus penalty totally changed the outcome of that game. And that's a real shame.

I wasn't talking about the fans...I was talking about the players! :D
They tend to not have as much - ahem - "respect" for the referees here.

I caught the highlights on the bayer04 website and the penalty kick was so bogus, absolutely unbelievable. Based on those limited highlights, it seems Bayern had the upper hand most of the game.

Where on the Leverkusen site can you watch highlights? I always read the English version of the site and I have never seen it. Is it on the German site? If so, what is it called?
    Thanks
