That's a funny coincidence ...I just flew home from Newark !!! Anyway... Just spoke to some legs on the ground in Ft. Lauderdale. The match is going ahead. The field is being tidied up as we speak.

I am quite glad to see Murphy in goal. I believe that based on raw talent she may well be the best of the US keepers. However the style the US is playing (or lack thereof) may prove to make it hard for her. But she is, from previous appearances, the best shot stopper the US has available.
Pugh is starting VERY strong. It is kind of sad that, right now, the rest of the field players are not living up to that standard.
How??? By not shooting and trying to pass to a wide open Morgan? BTW: I think Murphy prevented a goal with her save. It might have been offside BUT that was not known at shot time..
Smith just cleanly missed a pretty easy shot. It was not a given and she had quite a bit to do but it is something she should at least get on goal.
That may be true but, without somebody else playing pretty good we won't score. Germany is a VERY good team but we are playing at home and should get some more shots on goal and that is NOT coming from Huerta. The goal is 8 feet by 8 yards but we keep missing it. It is only 35 minutes in but our production seems to follow the last few years. Against even a decent team we just can't hit that HUGE goal. Pugh almost scores but it was saved. At least it was on goal.
I know this will please many people but, right now, this game is BORING. so I am leaving it. The US is simply trying to not lose and German is playing to injure. The is NOT the US I grew to know and love. BTW: just because a game is fast does not mean it is good. But fast and boring is better that the slow and boring the US has produced lately.
Lavelle was flashy and good in first half. I've thought of Lavelle as a delicate flower -- but she's toughened up over the years. Morgan is doing a lot of the dirty work in the midfield. Either Smith or Pugh or both should have scored. Horan missed an easy one on a cross. U.S. has been poor in front of goal.
Hey, didn't I read here--about 70 or 80 times, usually from the same one or two people--that Megan Rapinoe should have retired a decade ago?
