Hopefully we'll bounce back from our defeat at Bolton. Andy Reid should make his make his first appearance for Tottenham and i can't wait to see him play and help the team, personaly i think we can win this one, Portsmouth away form is poor and these are the teams we got to beat at home. I'll go for a 2-0 Spurs :D

    COME ON YOU SPURS!!!:D:D:D

Kanoute is suspended, Ziegler and Davis are still out and Gardner is out. I'm guessing we'll start with Reid on the left and maybe Keane and Defoe up front. I would like to see Mido start because Defoe and Keane just don't work together, but I'm not sure he'll be thrown in the deep end like that.

What about this to confuse the opposition? (who will surely be expecting a 4-4-2)...

    Code:
             Robinson
    Pamarot Naybet King Edman
       Carrick Mendes Brown
     Davies Reid
               Defoe
Note this isn't really 5 in midfield. It's Davies and Reid playing the roles Duff and Robben play for Chelsea, and Ronaldinho plays for Barca where they're just off the striker. I think it might work better with Kanoute or Mido in the middle, and Defoe dropping as one of the winger/strikers but I'm not sure.

It could work with Kanoute/Mido playing up front but hard to sit three top class strikers or put them out of position and hope they survive out on the wings. With this setup we might as well get rid of Keane as he will never play with only one true striker in the formation and he just doesn't cut it as an attacking winger as we have seen when we have played all three of our strikers earlier this year.

Hope we can get one over on Pompey as we need to get back to winning and start pushing for that 6th or 7th spot in the league and hope the cups work out in our favor, at least the Carling Cup is looking like it is going our way, sad to say I am rooting for Chelski as it makes sure another place for Europe goes to the league and not thru the cup route just in case Liverpool fall apart in the league and finish behind us.

I think we will stick to a 4-4-2, with Mido upfront with Defoe. It would be interesting to see if Jol sticks with Stephen Kelly. Reid in for Atouba is a cert (surely).

That's going to be tough to want Chelsea to win the Carling Cup but as you say that would make the 6th place a UEFA cup spot.

I really hope that Mido starts. He's a big game player. Ok, Pompy at home isn't a big game for us, but it will be his home debut and so that makes it a big game.

He has a thunderous left foot. If we get a free-kick on the right of the box, expect him to run over to the ball, pick it up and lash it.

We should play the 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation away. Jol says that that is the formation he wants to use next season, so we'll have to wait and see.

    Spurs 3-1 Pompy

It's bloody freezing here in Cyprus!!!

I have no idea what what to expect from this team anymore, so there is no use in me guessing. We play well against the good teams and then we get spanked by some sucker chumps. Consistency please!

Unfortunately Mido is injured for this game. I'm expecting the following...

    Code:
              Robinson
    Pamarot Naybet King Edman
               Carrick
      Davies Reid
                Brown
            Defoe Keane
Unfortunately there is a lack of height up front so we really have to make sure our passes are to feet and accurate.

I've given up trying to call Spurs results. I just hope we play well, and that those players who are handed their debuts will take their opportunity and kick Pompey arse!

Going to be a tough one. Praying for a 2-1 win!

With Naybet, Dawson & Gardner out, we have the option of Bunjecevic, Richards or possibly Pamarot playing centre back. It is probably to early for Defendi but he has been playing in the reserves. I would like to see how Pamarot does at centre back.

We are signing a lot of players now and have a pretty good strengh in depth ,as we are signing a lot of players, i think its for the better, we need a big squad cuz we don't want to be down to the bair bones like last season.

2-0 with Reid welcoming himself to the Lane and Davies getting his old form back.

********, if Naybet is out I guess we'll be seeing Pamarot at centre back. Naybet is in the squad so I guess that means we found out that he was injured too late.

To get our season back on track, we need to win by 2 or 3 goals. This is unlikely to happen against Pompey, as they have a good record against us.

    Come on Spurs!

     Kelly Naybet King Atouba
    Davies Brown Carrick Reid
            Defoe Mido
Bench: Cerny, Edman, Bunjevcevic, Keane, Marney.

Kinda suprised Mido is starting, i suppose Jol wants a big guy to play along side Defoe, it'll be interesting to see how he gets on and great to see Reid is playing, Hopefully he'll bring in something new to the team.

Great..... Mido is a champion. He and Defoe will combine beautifully.

    Spurs 4-0.
    Defoe 3
    Mido 1

    The team should really be......
    Robinson
    Kelly, King, Naybet, Edman
    Marney, Brown, Carrick, Reid
    Defoe, Mido

I predict that Marney and Edman will make an appearance anyway at some point. Jol will want to see how Mido and Keano combine too, so expect to see Defoe hauled off with about 20 minutes to go.

Looking good. Can't wait to see how Mido deals with the physical Pompey defence.

Also, pompey's new keeper is seriously cack. He can't catch a ball to save his life! As long as Reid can get some bitchin' balls onto Mido's noggin, we should get a few!

    Fingers x'd!
