I have to say as a Portugal fan I saw this group and thought we would have significant issues advancing, however It would seem as though the other sides in this group have regressed or just were never that good and it seems that Portugal should top this group quite easily. However knowing Portugal they always find ways to complicate seemingly accessible paths.

After watching the friendlies and Nations League matches, I'd say that Portugal and Uruguay are the strong favorites to advance in this group.

It's not that we are doing that good, but Ghana and South Korea seem way worse at the moment (at least based in their last friendlies against decent sides and Ghana participation in the last AFCON). Korea's defense and GK seem to be a disaster at the moment

I'd still be more wary about Ghana than SK, cause they seem to have a personal vendetta against us due to 2010.

I have to agree, don’t see Portugal or Uruguay at the pointy end of the tournament but to be fair everyone is pretty ordinary apart from Brazil and Argentina who are on the opposite side of the draw. First place for groups on the opposite side of the draw will be crucial imo.

Netherlands looks really strong under Van Gaal as well but they are also on the opposite side.

I'd say Portugal and Uruguay will probably advance. I feel like all of these teams have seen better days, but Ghana and South Korea are not impressing me, especially the latter.

I originally thought Uruguay would win it, but Suarez is really done and can only play for a short time, and Cavani is in decline as well. Godin also likely won't start. Therefore, Uruguay isn't as good as they used to be.

I think Portugal will likely win this group with Uruguay second. Portugal isn't coached the best, but they do have the talent and perhaps with the other teams not in the best shape either, the lack of chemistry and tactics won't matter too much in this group.

With possible absence of Son, our chances are even slimmer than ever.

I just hope rest of our guys step up and put up good fight and keep the game at respectable manner. It should be a great opportunity for them to make themselves known to the world of football. There should not be no better motivation than this.

Meanwhile Napoli SSC centreback Kim Min-jae, argurably the best player in the roster behind Son, has got his hand full against likes of Federico Valverde and Rafael Leao.

Ghana has a lot of great young and new players, but barely any caps: Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Mohamed Salisu, Salis Samed, Kamaldeen Sulemana. Much better players than AFCON or that qualified vs Nigeria. Could be a surprise. Ghana-Uruguay very interesting match.

Well those players with barely any caps beat a Switzerland side that has been very settled for quite a while now. More impressive was the fact they beat them without Partey or Kudus (their 2 best players IMO) playing any part. The midfield duo in that match had a combined total of 1 cap. We have not seen anything close to Ghanas best lineup yet, in any match they have played.

The Uruguay match will be key. They must also not underestimate Korea. (Who can be fire on their day)

What if Suarez handball defends a goal again at the end of the match and the goalkeeper from Uruguay saves a penalty? And it costs Ghana a place in the Round of 16? Wouldn't that be so awesome?
