Manuel Pellgrini obviously stressed attacking Matic, trying to punish him for not following runners behind him etc. . . They tried to play around him or pass to the guy he was marking pretty much every time they had possession around our area.

Matic just gets passed too easily and either doesn't try or isn't quick enough to keep up with players getting behind him or moving into the space he needs to be shutting down.
