Growing up, I remember seeing Confederate flags in more rural parts of Michigan.

Other thing to keep in mind, lots of Southerners moved up to Detroit for factory jobs. One town known as Hazel Park had so many folks from Kentucky that it was named Hazel Tucky. Didn’t help that they had a horse track? Now Hazel Park, is where all the LGBTQ folk are moving.
