I’m in southern Italy right now (Sicily to be precise). Came here via the car/ferry and was in southern Italy near Naples last week. I’ve heard the stereotypes but I can tell you it is much poorer and more ghetto than I thought. The amount of trash everywhere, especially in Sicily, is shocking. I spend part of my time every year living in Mexico and I can tell you Southern Italy reminds me quite a bit of it in terms of trash/atmosphere in the ghetto areas. I would be seriously intimidated walking around with an Ajax shirt there… I legit would not do it. I was almost considering watching this game in Naples, glad I didn’t.

 

Napoli hooligans have a reputation for stabbing opponents. Even if you havent done anything. Wearing your club's colours in public is enough.

They tend to "only" stab you in the legs or ass though, so I guess they are civilized stabbers
