It's unfortunate Campana is injured yet again. He's had a good season and deserves consideration to be part of the NT squad but he can't be counted on to stay healthy.

I remember you mentioned him a while back.

Damn if these kids get mixed with the kids playing in Europe, we'll have a nice U20 campaign.

I wonder what’s up with him. Like a mental thing? He knows his body better than us, wonder if it’s a slight knock and it’s him trying to make it to the WC.

Could be genetics. Dude's in good shape. It's also possible he rushed back from his previous injury.

It’s been confirmed we are playing Iraq a week before the WC.

    //Alfaro, pls don’t start Enner.

    He’s definitely not Stiven Plaza.

For you guys, who’s the forward that’s putting himself out there to be called up?

    Campana honestly.

We have more wingers coming than forwards and that's worrying.

Fitness is a big concern before the World Cup...all the teams are in a similar pinch because this tournament kicks off mid-season.

As calendars are tightening, we'll see more and more players getting dinged up because the offseason is now packed with promotional tours and international duty. The guys have less rest, which tires the body long-term + we can't trust their diets during the offseason are absolutely perfect, which adds a ton of risk for the younger men who are still physically "developing" (16-22 y/o). Some of it is just genetic, too...those prone to injury will be plagued with it throughout their entire career. On the other hand, some guys are rarely ever hurt. Luck of the draw?

To some extent, it's not a surprise to see more seleccion-worthy pros around the world starting to reject international call-ups. While it's not always for self-preservation, the story is becoming less weird to hear.

Congrats to our sub-19 team for reaching the final! It makes me super happy to see how strong this team is with only local talent and I'm expecting us to be a strong contender in the sub-20 Sudamericano.

Klinger and Cuero are ones to keep an eye out for in the future.

Now let's go for the gold boiz!

Ecuador didn't field their best potential squad either. Garis Mina, Yaimar Medina, Oscar Zambrano, Sebastian Gonzalez, and Tommy Chamba weren't part of the squad. Neither were the kids who play abroad - Ordoñez, Valencia, Angulo, De la Cruz.

Denil Castillo is another player to keep an eye on.

Honestly the only player that showed up today was the GK.

For the U-20 sudamericano we need the European CBs because the two fielded today were a mess.

His consistency has certainly taken a hit. Granted, the team as a whole has been underperforming for quite some time.

I'm glad Piero got sent off. Gives him some rest and honestly he's been overworked this season due to Bakker being trash at covering in midfield.

Porozo scored a nice goal today. Seems he's finally adapted to French football.

That's a good run! You don't see CBs scoring goals like that.

The fef should have scheduled a friendly to be played at the end of October. By the time Ecuador plays Qatar several players from Liga MX and MLS would have been out of game action for approximately a month. Byron Castillo, Mena, Leon, Felix Torres, Ayrton Preciado, Jordy Caicedo, and Estrada, and Arreaga have all finished their seasons. Alfaro could have called them up and other players who play in those leagues and Liga Pro to organize a friendly or two.

If it's not a FIFA day and not during the concentracion time, there's no way clubs will permit these guys to leave. The injury risk is way too high and nobody compensates clubs for these things.

I believe Ecuador is scheduled to play Iraq 1 week before the tournament starts.
