Wow. A Dispatch Crew beat reporter actually offering up useful information. Someone check.to see if there are pigs in the trees.
The home team’s situation is difficult, to say the least. Charlotte will be without a pair of starting center backs for this game. Uruguayan National Team player Guzman Carujo is out after sustaining a season-ending ACL injury in August. Also, defender Christian Fuchs won’t be available, finishing out the match suspension that made him miss the July 30 attempted match. Elsewhere, midfielder Ben Bender, who started in July, is listed as questionable along with fullback Jaylin Lindsey, who was on the bench. Goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina, who started the match originally, is also questionable for the restart of the match after sustaining an injury prior to Charlotte’s 4-0 victory against the
Because apparently that’s the rule but we can’t fill his (Degenek)spot on the bench is we have 17 guys and Artur can not play because he was out a injured . definitely weird rules but it’s a odd situation
I seem to recall last season there was a question about the difference between postponing and cancelling games, and this season, the league wanted to clarify the rules. So back at the start of the season, MLS posted this: https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/2022-mls-match-delay-postponement-cancellation-and-forfeiture-policy the relevant part about injured players being replaced:
He'll obviously be available at some point, but obviously this doesn't bode well for Mensah playing at Orlando on Sunday either.
Maybe, maybe not. It could be that he’s not ready. It could just be about protecting him from re-injury on artificial turf to make sure he’s available for Orlando. We’ll see.
While there was good info in that Massive Report article, some of it was incorrect. For instance, gameday rosters have been at 20, not 18, for quite some time now. We will dress 19, not 17. Room; Moreira, Degenek, Williams, Santos; Morris, Nagbe; Diaz, LZ, Etienne; Cucho. Bench: Bush; Sands, Anibaba; Hairston; Igbekeme; Molino, Yeboah; Hurtado.
So since they changed to 5 subs is that why it’s 20 now instead of 18? im so use to starting 11 and the 18 i never noticed. thanks
We know most of this, but here's a FAQ of rules regarding subs, who can/can't play, why/why not, etc. https://www.columbuscrew.com/news/match-recommencement-faqs-charlotte-fc-columbus-crew
So I don’t know how I voted last time , but can we open up the voting ? Seems fair to change your mind
Missing tonight's match as I have chosen to attend a concert by the legend, Billy Bragg instead. However, unlike the dooooooooooooooomsayers I am in a great mood. We have received some much needed rain in the Hudson Valley, while being spared Hurricane Ian's most destructive impact. My beloved Philadelphia Phillies are back in the playoffs after an 11-year hiatus. I'm in such a great mood, I'm close to predicting the hangthadj double of Phillies and Crew championships like we saw in 2008. But for that to happen, the Crew would need to have a winning streak, something they have yet to do in 2022. However, tonight is an opportunity after this past weekend to do just that. Win by 2 baby. Sunshine Brigade. Bless up. YOLO. Golazo Bonanza. Glory to Columbus.
Let him do it on the condition that he submits a thousand-word paper on why the voting should be opened back up. Oh, it must also be free of any grammatical errors.
I'm planning on collecting my grouchy points, win or lose, tonight. Based on the wording, as long as someone other than Cucho, including anyone on Charlotte, scores the GWG the bonus choice means 2 points. I like my odds lol
