Even after Halaand states clearly he is going to the highest bidder and has no loyalties...

...meaning any rumor that says he is a Madrid fan or has love for the club is an utter lie.

 

This rules him out forever, oil clubs will always offer more money, so if the job is always the same to him (football, no matter where) then he’ll go for the money.

 

I kind of appreciate Haaland being transparent about this. It's quite refreshing, and in his situation – being one of the biggest names in club football and one that actually performs! – he can afford to be this transparent. But yeah, any and all rumours regarding Haaland should be taken with a grain of salt.

 

He wants to play in Spain so he and his father probably think we're the next logical spot and know after he scores a million goals in the next three seasons we will offer him big money (just like barca).

The reality is also he has no special feelings for the club and it isn't personal.

I agree. I just don't want to see any rumors or talks about how we could have gotten him this past summer (we couldn't have) or how je loves us as a club and only eats Madrid (he doesn't).

 

He played in Bundesliga and now EPL. I doubt he'll ever play in Serie A unless he falls off.
Realistically it's RM/Barca and PSG.
PSG if Mbappe leaves for RM/Barca or EPL.

Haaland fits us much better than Mbappe anyways atm anyways. With Vinicius, Rodrygo, Valverde and others running around and creating for him.

I think Haaland will stay at atleast 3 years (2025) at City. If he moves, he'd have rejected Messi/Neymar level salary offer from City so whoever goes for him will have to get close to 40 ME nett in wages and 180 ME buyout clause.

 

Basically whatever a non oil club offers, City will blow that offer out of the water with official and unofficial payments.

If money is the primary motivation in a world of playing professional football where every top team offers a strong project and UCL football, then we’ll be second best every time.

 

If we don't win UCL then I want whichever club, even Barcelona to win it before PSG or City.
Until they win the UCL their project and shit doesn't mean that much.

Why not? RM had prime Benz that's about to win Ballon d'Or, he ranked them really high considering that and he gave that as his reason.

 

Because he is using RMs name to boost his image. He was never interested in coming here and we have wined and dined a host of players and their families. The same way Mbapay has started flirting with us again. They are in it for themselves and the club does not want their name dragged into their soap operas

Haaland is a Manchester City player. Of course, Haaland's dad is going to say that they were their first choice. What else would he say? He isn't going to say that Real Madrid was their number one choice, If I were him, I would never never say that too. That would have been "stupid". Whatever he said now means nothing.

Also, last I checked his father was so candid he said his son doesn't plan on staying at City long because he wants to enjoy other leagues.

Generational players pop up every year.. heck when I started watching soccer in late 90s, there were generational players everywhere. Did they all make or break teams they went to or didn’t go to? Nopes. And still now, Mbappe the greatest talent of his generation until this new greatest talent of the same generation appeared didn’t stop us from winning when he didn’t come in 2017 and he will not stop us from winning when he didn’t come in 2022.

 

A pointless discussion everytime Haaland scores a hattrick and it is likely we'll see a lot of that.

Haaland is a City player, I don't see his father/entourage publicly saying anything other than City was their first choice. Doing otherwise would be supremely dumb.

 

I wish the names Haaland and Mbappe were banned here. They could have become Madrid players, and chose something else. Good luck to them and time to focus on others because its not only these two who are good players.

And I’m not one for mentioning either as they’re not targets, however the attacking market and especially striker market is seriously lacking right now. There isn’t one name beyond these two that I’d have said I want ‘that’ guy.
