This is what Ajax is all about. Youth players moving to the first team: A very, very special day ♥️ pic.twitter.com/6utVV8GCmf— AFC Ajax (@AFCAjax) September 21, 2022
More strangeness from the Ihattaren front. His Porche went up in flames the other day about two weeks after his brother's car burned up. Arson is suspected in both cases. He also just got married to an aspiring Tik Tok influencer. I think his career at Ajax is over now and the club just should move on. I think the only way he revives his career is getting out of the country and away from all the bad influences. He'll go back to Juventus in January and who knows whether they will want to continue investing in him.
Ajax women are playing Arsenal in the CL right now. It was a 2-2 draw in London and it is 0-0 at the half. Ajax have some very good young players on their team. Hope they can snatch a goal in the 2nd half.
Just like Mo, here's another former Ajax talent who thought he could mix booze and strip clubs with football https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/andy-van-der-meyde-booze-13511657
So this Kaplan situation is so weird.... still no confirmation on the injury or what happened. Also doesn't seem like Berghuis will play tomorrow. PLEASE PLEASE PLEAE Kudus-Taylor-Alvarez midfield. If it's Davy starting, that would stink.
Frustrated for the 2nd year in a row to Go Ahead Eagles with Ajax conceding a goal on a quick counter attack in the second half. I'm convinced that this team has to have a two goal lead for any match to be considered safe. Ajax had 75% of the possession and 23 shots. GAE had three shots with one on goal and that was the one that mattered. Maybe it's a case of Ajax getting too lackadaisical when they have deep possession and then making silly mistakes. Ajax now stand 2nd a point behind AZ who easily dispatched Groningen. Schreuder did rotate the team today which was good to see. Player Ratings: Pasveer (6.5) - got a hand on the shot that evened the game but not enough to keep it out Blind (6.5) - spent most of the match in the offensive half Bassey (6.5) - decent enough match Timber (6.5) - had a couple of good runs into the offensive zone, had little defending to do Rensch (5.5) - still not up to Mazroui Grillitch (6) - Ok 60 minutes of football Taylor (6.5) - had a good match constantly moving into the open spaces Klaassen (6) - made one good run for the goal that opened the scoring and that was it Ocampos (6) - had a couple of shots on goal but one missed the target and the other one was blocked Brobbey (6) - good hold up play and was called for a bizarre foul when he was pulled down Tadic (6) - no magic from the Captain Alvarez (6) - on for the last half hour and had several nice passes Bergwijn (5.5) - could not manufacture a shot on goal Berghuis (NR) - on late when Ajax were chasing a goal Kudus (NR) - same as Berghuis Lucca (NR) - same as Bergwijn With this type of rotation I still am baffled why Tadic plays a full 90 minutes. Champions League match against Napoli on Tuesday which I will unfortunately miss seeing live. Napoli are playing well and are either first or second in the Italian league depending on what Atalanta do tomorrow. I have no expectation of an Ajax win given their current state of play.
Defensively Blind is a liability. He was completely unaware of the GAE player that scored their goal. Bassey should be paid double wages but he can't be in two places at the same time. Playing Tadic and Blind 90 min and Klaassen 80+ min is just a bad decision. Taking all of the above into account the result seems fair.
Hey, it's the Eredivisie. Any team can win or draw regardless of the opponent. This is the way it's supposed to be.
Totally agree about the playing time of Blind, Tadic, and Klaassen. On the GA Eagles goal Blind was actually goal side but unaware of someone being behind him. There was a moment in the match yesterday around the 60 minute mark were Brobbey was upset with Blind over a poor pass, gesturing angrily at Blind who waved back angrily at Brobbey that I find interesting. Brobbey not getting great supply yesterday, and not happy with his playing time I think as Kudus has taken his time, but it’s not a good reaction to see and I wonder if that moment will be talked about. Regarding Blind his level in my opinion has dropped a lot and his best quality of passing has fallen off too. As I’ve stated a lot over the past few years his lack off speed and athleticism is so apparent yet he plays always, and stays on the pitch always for Ajax and Oranje which is ridiculous despite making mistakes, and not performing very well at all, so I’m at a loss for more words or thoughts about Blind.
Lack of speed of play in the final 3rd of the pitch against a pretty organized opponent in a strong low block did not help the cause. Good to see rotation but not good to see is a whole match from Blind, Tadic, and Klaassen. Any word on Wijndal return?
Klaassen playing over Kudus was criminal. NO MORE DAVY. Tadic playing 90 every minute is beyond bizarre at this point. Dude looks cooked. Really, really bad. Not signing Ziyech/a very good RW is killing this team too. The Antony loss was giant and we didn't do anything to replace him. Ocampos seems like a decent player but nothing special. I've been a Blind-hater but the more I watch, the more I see literally no one else on the field can make those breaking the line passes to progress the ball. I'm not sure what you can do with him-- but IMO he has to play because of that. Grillitsch playing could make him expendable though because he can really pass it.
