Honestly, it feels like one of those situations where it could end up being a club that isnt linked to him at all, like Bayern Munich
If his price stays as quoted, quite a number of teams could be interested. We'll see............................
yeah, honestly, thats in West Ham, Villa, Everton price point. Hell, thats at free spending Nottingham Forest's price point
Take the rumor with a grain of salt, but there's been reports of Euro interest in Johnny from multiple sources. Real Betis sent an inquiry for Johnny Cardoso 🇺🇸🇧🇷, however the price asked by Internacional is considered to high at the moment. Inter want around €12M for the USMNT international. They will continue to monitor the player.— Tactical Manager (@ManagerTactical) September 27, 2022
This confirms what I read elsewhere. I know he hasn't looked good for us, but the sense I got out of reports elsewhere was that he's going to move to Europe at some point in January or June and that he's very highly valued, not like 25 or 50 mill or anything, but definitely a lot more than 1 or 2 mill.
Although there is A LOT that I blame Berhalter for, I have to also acknowledge that he’s basically had to field a team before they would typically be ready to play plus all the damn injuries. What do we figure? 80% of these guys would have been considered “next cycle” guys typically? I remember that Steve Cherundolo - our greatest ever right back - was considered “not ready” at 23. From the start, this was always going to be a hard cycle. To that point, Johnny is 20 years old. And he’s only got spare minutes here or there to make something happen. And we’re going to conclude that he’s not international quality? To be fair, maybe, some of that is a bit inflated from the consensus of most supporters, and it’s also fair to mention that I don’t necessarily believe he’s ready for this cycle because he’s still too much of an unknown. But this has been the story of this cycle, trying to find out who is good enough and who isn’t. And it’s a lot of pressure on guys who would not be counted on traditionally. I’m looking forward to 2026 when we will start the cycle with an established core, depth all around the field, and our main question will be: who replaces Walker Zimmerman? I’m looking forward to when these youngsters are considered to be a fresh injection into an established team.
With the youth, injuries, COVID, play inconsistency, etc., this job is a lot harder than a lot of fans would like to present it as when they post Best XIs with team badges. I can't say Berhalter has done a good job. November will tell the tale, but it's clear he hasn't done a job well above average or anything. But I also think people are a bit crazy when they think rolling out Dave Sarachan and a lineup of best players defined by club would be better. (Sorry, Dave.) Forget the overestimation of a lot of our talent; that talent is never healthy. I mean, just look at Gio's performance this window. Seventy-five minutes and most of that was tentative and absent. And that wasn't completely the tactics - he's not near 100% yet to my eye. It has barely been discussed but we didn't have the player we think of Gio as at all.
Pefok with three half chances in the first 30 minutes. He really does look like our most consistently dangerous 9.
Pepi does it again! He's had little to work with. Team has been totally over-run. But there makes something from nothing. Runs down a long ball, wrestles it from the AZ defender, and scores from his seat on a spin-a-rooni. Determined and outstanding.
Scally's looked great going forward -- could have had a goal and assist in the first half if things broke the other way. The Gladbach defense is getting overrun, but it's mostly been down their left.
At the risk of drawing conclusions from Whoscored ..... Alex Mendez seems to be having a good start to the season in Portugal. 6.76 score overall. 3 out of 7 games with a 7 score or above. Has anyone seen his games?

Weah was on the Lille roster today. Didnt' play but is clearly close. Adams and Aarosnon starting for Leeds vs Aston Villa.
Seeing so many of our USMNT pool making progress really frustrates me even more. I know it's been said a million times, but maybe GGG needed to just simplify things. Is it too late for that? no idea.
I don’t need Haaland to score three goals in a game, I need him to play like a forward in our system. Vive la SYSTEM!
Gregg wouldn't call up Halland because he isn't the prototypical forward in The Gregg System sorry LDLT: 3 line breaking attacks created by Luca De La Torre vs Real Bettis. pic.twitter.com/bloMm0nXhM— Seth Andrzejewski (@sethland) October 2, 2022 McKennie assist: MCKENNIE ASSIST!(via @CBSSportsGolazo) pic.twitter.com/M7AVBjIzSA— USMNT Only (@usmntonly) October 2, 2022 wonder if Turner and Richards would be a better fit for the Lasso system...
Watching Wes, CP, LDLT, Tyler, and Pepi thrive this past weekend has actually made me simultaneously happy and sad. I am in a glass case of emotion ….
