A fair draw I can say for the NT with only thing the defenders need to face Messi and Lewandoski. Below is my early prediction of Team selection - Mohammed Owais Fawaz Al Qarni Mohammed Yami Yasser Shahrani Sultan Al Ghannam Muhammed Al Burayk Saud Abdul Hamid Hamdan Shamrani Hassan Tumbakti Abdullah Mado Ali Bulaihy Ahmed Sharaheli Ziyad Shafi Abdullah Otayf Mohammed Kanoo Salman Faraj Abdellilah Al Malki ( If fit ) Sami Al Najei Salem Dossari Hattan Bahabri Fahd Muwallad Abdul Aziz Bishi Abdul Rahman Aboud Saleh Sehri Abdullah Hamdan Firas Al Buraikan
Should we say that Poland has to face Shehri, Argentina has to face Salem, and Mexico has to face Kano?
Dear Saudi Arabia fans, I have two questions. I greatly appreciate if you can answer them. 1. Out of last 5 World Cups KSA qualified (From WC 1998 to WC 2022), which one do you think was the hardest one to qualify? Which one was the easiest one in your opinion? For Iran, 2014 was the hardest one and 2018 was the easiest one in my opinion. I do not recall games before 1997 due to my age. That is why I said from WC 1998 to WC 2022. 2. Who was better player out of Mohammed Noor and Taisir al-Jassam for you? Just curious. Good luck in the WC 2022.
The easiest was 2002 if not mistaken when we had South Korea, Uzbekistan and Kuwait in the group & qualified without much hiatus. The hardest one was the Russian WC qualification IMO. For me both the players have different quality, Noor was bit slow in his approach but was unstoppable when he was inform. He was not a natural goal scorer but used to be involved directly for many goals. Attitude was he was terrible. Jassem was more direct & was very fast with scoring goals on occasions. Attitude was fine too & did not get himself involve in much controvorsies. Final judgement for me would be Jassem if we combine both NT and Club appearances.
I hope it is not true as well and he can play in the WC. The bolded one should be 2006. Anyway, thank you so much for the answers.
Nov 16 friendly match vs CRO, in Riyadh. Both Croatian and Saudi federations have confirmed this friendly. https://hns-cff.hr/en/news/24169/croatia-to-face-saudi-arabia-in-november/
I wonder if first-team Croatian players will get permission from their clubs to participate in that match. The FIFA November window asks clubs to release players on Nov 14th, two days before this match.
But better display up front. Missed some good chances. Hamdan's one th best after a mistake from a Venezuela defender. The team is better going forward with Salem. Faraj missed the game..
The FA president said after the game there are 6-7 more friendlies scheduled. Don't know how it is going to help. We have an never ending league plus club players like Hilal have ramped up mammoth minutes playing this year..Fatigue will be a huge factor. Renard has some work to do otherwise I won't be shocked to see changes in the dugout before the WC which usually is the case.
The centre forward position is a problem. In other words, Firas scored today for the U23 team after being in Spain with the senior team. Saudi to the semifinals
Have watched all the friendly matches of Saudi Arabia (against Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador) and not impressed with the team so far... If it was not for Al-Owais then Saudi Arabia would have had easily lost against Ecuador 3 to 4 goals... Saudi also had hardly 2 Shots on goal (1 was lucky shot as the defender lost the ball after losing his balance) so Saudi hardly had any proper shot on goal compared to Ecuador's 11 shots on target after authentic and well-built moves... Saudi Arabia is lacking attacking mindset and Firas is too greedy and selfish upfront. Wonder if Saleh Al-Shehri is fit enough to fill the gap else, it will be same story as in WC 2018 i.e., Saudi losing 4 to 5 or may be by 6 goals against big teams such as Argentina and Mexico, and narrowly losing against Poland... Believe it or not, the 3 teams (Argentina, Mexico, Poland) consider match against Saudi Arabia not only a 3 points game but a game in which they will need to get higher goal difference. Saudi Arabia needs to have as many attacking mid-field to support the lone striker upfront as Saudis can else, it will be another disastrous world cup campaign.
Same shit different day.. Although we have excuse of players being injured. But I hoping things should be fine next match days as Salman Faraj, Abdeullah Malki, Salem Dawsari, Abdullah Otayf and many more will be back. So the team can settle down and start showing the form they had in the qualifiers
Missing Faraj and Salem was a big blow. I LIKE Malki as well. He recovered after that injury suffered against Australia?
Nawaf Al Abid was impressive and had good movement whenever he had the ball. He looked in shape and his intelligent ball passing was good. Good contender for mid-field role.
As a neutral obserever I put Saudi Arabia in a respectable 26th position in my grade list for the World Cup. Given the World Cup is in the Middle East I believe they have a good chance to reach the knockout stage for the first time since 1994. Especially also because of the group in which they are in. I don't see any significant gap to Mexico or Poland. It will be a very close battle in Group C for second place. For those intersted check out my entire grade list via the following link: #Post 1509 https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2022-fifa-world-cup-friendly-matches.2120177/page-61#post-40847034
