I was talking about Clark. Edelman I appreciate for what he is - a defensive presence who can add some steel to a midfield. Not a world beater but useful. Pukstas to me is a just a ball recycler who will chip in with a yellow card now and again.
In his defense, Pukstas is more of an 8. I don't know who ever decided he's a 6 for this group. He can do a job in the position against a weak team, but it doesn't suit his game.
Much better from JOGO. Luna made a mess out of his chance. I wonder if the field has anything to do with it.
Clark needs teammates to play off of that are on his level - I thought he was really good in the qualifiying tourney...he's been good (relatively) this game as well...but no one is connecting anything with him.
It was true in qualifying and it's been true in this game. This team needs Alvarado to be on his game. He changes the outlook for the team when he's playing well vs. when he's not playing well or not playing. He's been much better in the second half.
He's so good at those. As long as he doesn't take indirect set pieces, let him take all the direct ones.
I hope Hopkins and Clark come out. I want to see Gutierrez, Sullivan, and Aaronson together. Might be a combination we see on the field at the U-20 WC.
Wow. On the replay, you can see the ball taking a slight hop just before it went over the goalies glove.
us just had a great chance to counterattack but the player with the ball paused then passed it back to the backline ...who then gave away the next pass.....hate that move....wasting counterattacking opportunities should be a cardinal sin
Sullivan to Luna for the 3rd. 2nd half has been much more of what we should expect from this team. They will be dangerous next year.
Luna just lost the ball 4 times in a row and Alvarado tried to dribble through 3 players. Who are these players?
That too. Craig and Che (mostly Craig) have been the only two players who started the first half and continued into the second half who weren't struggling in the first half.
