What a waste of playing time that was given to him during preseason. It should have gone to someone like Garnacho or Diallo or Pellistri.

^ That playing time might have convinced Birmingham to sign, but I agree.

Amad was our backup 9 because he simulated the tech/movement of Martial (to help everyone get used to similar movements/applications. Pellistri had a knock that he was recovering from. I think Chong may have been used for shopwindow purposes but also for the plan of getting players used to a left footed RW... much like playing Telles at LCB.

Not many Henderson fans after shipping 9 goals in 2 games.

Edot: And 3 against Fulham at home.

You guys actually wanted him for United and England???

    Are the goals blunders?
    Are they all his fault?

The Henderson witch hunt is so embarrassing. Never thought one interview would have so many fans in their feelings like they were cheated on by their future wife the night before the wedding.

He's playing for a newly promoted club that is playing poorly in nearly every aspect of the game. His post shot xG will be just fine, like it always is.

Amad having a really really bright patch for Sunderland right now. Goals, assists and generally proving a big handful off the right flank.

Pellestri isnt on loan. Pretty sure he's playing with the reserves. He spent the last season and a half on loan at Alaves and a quick check shows he played a good amount of minutes (35ish appearances) and had zero goals and zero assists. So...not great.

Even thought ETH spoke out recently about being hesitant to recall Amad (and he should be, the kid needs time to develop), if we cant find a 9 this window I can see it happening. It would be sacrificing his development to give us a short term solution, but this is the bed we made.

Amad scored another golazo today. I still believe he should remain on loan but next season we are going to have to integrate him. He's too good to leave out and even if he struggles to translate what he's showing in the Championship to the Prem, he has the tools. Even though he's not rapid like Rashford or Elanga, he's not a Sancho or Antony esque dribbler, he can beat a man and leave him for dead.

His balance, movement and tech are unreal. He should be RW2 and CAM2 in the depth chart next season.

I'm watching the U21s play Blackburn and they are playing exactly how the 1st team play when we are playing well and controlling a game. CBs w/ time on the ball. 1 FB inverted, wingers hugging the touchline for progression. Importantly, the out of possession stuff is great. We are pressing well, the rest defence is great and Blackburn can't get the ball out of their half. I love it.

Amad playing with Sunderland against Fulham in the FA Cup right now. Good test for him against Prem opposition that are sharp. Fulham are pressing well and Sunderland really not seeing a lot of the ball. He's the only Sunderland player (so far, 7 minutes in) who looks like he has time to play. He's playing SS/10 now, but drifting to the right when it suits him.

This looks like it has been an excellent loan for him. Exactly the kind of game time and experience you hope for.

It has been great. He's grown more confident and he's a trusted player by the manager and his teammates (always helpful with creative players) but if anything, it has gone too well. He needs some adversity. You can see him having a bit of a flap when the ball doesn't come his way or somethign breaks down. He's clearly the best attacker if not the best player in the team and he knows it.

You mean now, in this window? Nah. He's formed and his forming relationships with players around him, learning about what he can do and what they can do in a team that is fighting for promotion. I think the funk of a relegation battle and having to learn new teammates all over again would be unwise. I'd rather leave him at Sunderland as it is all going well and then re-integrate him into our first team squad next year.

If we sell Harry he probably isn't big and albatross as he can take the role of the 4th defender.

Maybe we find them a team like Toulouse or lower in the French division or some team in Belgium to send them to

The good thing about Bailly is he wants to prove his worth. Chances are he will find another loan move.
