It was almost as if BVB were instructed not to pass to Gio. The right side of the field was unused after he came on. His man scored the 2nd goal; and, they could have used his help on the 3rd. The WB player was unmarked.
In the old times,he would escape all blame, because he's not a defender. In modern football, some fans will blame him.
How many years has a suspect defense been the downfall of Dortmund? Good grief. It’s amazing to me how badly run Euro clubs are run compared to the average team in the top league in America. Analytics, self evaluation, sports medicine…they’re like 2 decades behind.
What exactly are you referring to here? How does Dortmund’s bad defense reflect them being behind in these categories?
Can you unpack that thought with something more specific? Where did they fail to self evaluate? What defensive signing looked bad when they made them? Which defensive players should they have known to ship out?
I’m not suyuntuy. I don’t pretend to watch 40 games a week and cross reference my notes from one league and team and match to all the others. I’m just pointing out a pair of incontrovertible facts. 1. Dortmund’s defense has been letting them down for years now. 2. It ain’t because of lack of resources, as Dortmund is a pretty rich club. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk.
It's part of the survival by selling formula.Your long term players are there because they can't get enough money for them to recoup so they may as well stay. Hence,Dahoud and Can.
Can has only been there for 2.5 years - they bought him from Juventus after he had been kind of a stalwart at Liverpool. He has just completely fallen off in part because Dortmund cannot manage player health, so he keeps picking up muscular injuries.
I didn't get to see the game. Of course I'm glad Reyna has made it back to a competitive match. But I'm struggling with this idea of "controlling any sprinting." If he isn't comfortable sprinting should he be playing in a real match? Is this what it looked like?
I’m sure it’s both. It will take him awhile to trust his body. Hopefully he can come back like Weah and Adams.
At some point they have to play him. He's a footballer. If he breaks, it will be sad, but with these long breaks between sub appearances, he can't regain his fitness and trust in his body.
10 year old kid runs onto the pitch during middle of play. That was strange. Jude walks him off to prevent stewards from slamming him.
