There is just nothing coherent, strategic, planned, managed or professionally executed in this window from us. Like at all.
I see we’ve fully reached the scattergun phase of the window where we just call up clubs and ask what everyone in their squads cost is. Top level scouting that. This disaster of a window might be the final spark to the fans and Glazers colliding. I can see protests ramping way way up this season as things gets worse.
Manchester United have spent more on John Murtough’s plane tickets than midfielders this summer— Chris Winterburn (@cmwinterburn) August 16, 2022
I know the club is run like shit and the owners don’t give a hoot but are we believing every rumor and link out there?
I have a theory that football, post pandemic, has spiralled into a new era of unsustainable spending that even the biggest clubs can't really afford it (hence the superleague with capped costs and guaranteed revenue). Until now Utd has been able to rely on it's high EBITDA to get at least some players (putting to one side the bizarre strategy) But we are now seeing absurd debt funded spending at Chelsea and Arsenal for example, which presumably Glazers won't approve. Barca are on a binge funded by Private Equity (same as Chelsea). The market is very distorted by this new PE and petrostate funding.
Juventus have received Manchester United message on Adrien Rabiot: deal is completely 'off' and won't change unless something crazy happens on player side. 🚨🇫🇷 #MUFCMan Utd have intention to pay record-salary and also huge signing fee. Other targets now discussed internally. pic.twitter.com/JKTNU0OPb7— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 17, 2022
https://www.skysports.com/football/live-blog/30778/12476234/transfer-centre-live someone had an issue with him and supposedly being racist right? read he was a United fan a few years ago
Is this the worst we've seen Man Utd since we all started supporting them? I certainly can't think of a worse transfer window when you consider our needs vs. spending. This club is a clogged toilet in a sewer right now.
We're perpetually the kid who hasn't studied all year and desperately trying to study at the last minute to barely pass the class. This shitty window, garbage start to the season and the FIFA fckup in Qatar this winter is pure football heaven.
I'm not taking a single one of these rumours seriously, but even still... Pulisic sucks. I hate that we get linked with big clubs' castaways.
linked with Meunier in and Wan-Bissaka out now but it's the telegraph. i do like that move though. especially at £12.6m
It sucks that its come to this, but I would take Pulisic on loan. Can play anywhere across the front 3, decent finisher, decent on the ball, and willing to press. As for Casemiro, wtf are we doing? Hes elite, but hes also 30 and looking for one last big pay day. Havent we learned our lesson from this type of signing yet?
I rate Casemiro, however €70m for someone who is 31 in Feb would be crazy for a team that needs rebuilding with limited funds. Madrid may not get that quoted price for him, but will likely be ball-park given they dont need to sell. In our situation, that kind of money should only be spent on players who will be around for at least five years. Wages and especially contract length would likely be an issue too.
linked to Yann Sommer of all people now. another 30+ non elite. though we've probably pushed ourselves out of that market already
No planning No conviction No idealistic approach to transfer window, scrambling like headless chicken and knocking on every fecking door to see what comes out. Casmeiro is another red flag, player in 30 probably will be on high wages i hope he rejects us. So tired of this bullshit, knew Glazers and co would fail Ten Haag but this another level of bottom pit. You could already start writing the headlines for Erik ten Hag's #MUFC reign... pic.twitter.com/73yjlucZ6Z— Shamoon Hafez (@ShamoonHafez) August 15, 2022
@tito Yeah last summer IIRC but we had Mason....now we are just desperate early morning lad hooking to land any fat ugly pu$$y
