LAFC comes off a 5-0 win at home against Charlotte. Will they fall into the trap game against the worst team in MLS? Should Taxi get rested?

Tuesdays are a weird day for games
This graphic says it is at 10:30 real time (normal game time in @morrissey -land), so start coughing at your desk today to set up having tomorrow off :)

Hopefully it is also on NBCSW - though I do now have ESPN+ (free with my new Fios internet service but as a punishment I also had to take Disney +). I have only watched Loudoun and Charleston games on it so far and their announcers are awful, but one might assume they'd be better for MLS teams...)

    #WeTieTuesdays ?

2-2 as LAFC plays a disinterested pre-mid-week game and gives up a late goal.

I really shouldn't stay up late to watch this. So I probably will.

I can't imagine this going well. If Rooney has anything he'd like to test -- running a player at a different position, a deep block, etc. -- it should probably be tonight, especially with a home match against a conference rival in four days. Get the kids some time, maybe run Palsson for a half, make a real effort at getting Rodriguez more involved to see what we've got, and learn something.

EDIT: For the gamblers, DC is +1300 tonight (at Caesars). That's an *insane* number for one match.

For selfish reasons, I hope they just tank it and save everyone for Saturday because I'm going to that game. So..

    Ku, Berry, Hopkins
    Djeffal, Canouse, Nyeman
    Guediri, Pines, Alfaro, COA
Romo (I'm not going to throw Ochoa into this mess!)

Nah, I don't really hope for that, they'd get slaughtered and that's no good for anybody. Still, I think they get slaughtered anyway. They'll be giving up 4 goals at least.

It's painful to realize that the man most responsible for putting this LAFC club together, John Thorrngton, was briefly a member of DC United at the end of his playing career. What a shame someone didn't recognize his team building talent then and hired him for the Front Office. Ditto with Greg Vanney.

Add Josh Wolff to that list. All of them left and Chad Ashton was left as the Crackerjack "prize."

Wow, goffinho finally taking the kid gloves off with his latest pre-game article:
LAFC dominating MLS with fast, fun brand of soccer - The Washington Post

even gets in a "are we having fun yet?" shot.

On Tuesday, MLS’s long-standing parity will be put to the test when LAFC will host D.C. United, whose victory total (six) is the same as LAFC’s winning streak. United’s goal tally over eight matches is the same as LAFC’s in the second half against Charlotte (five).

D.C. United, still adding parts, sputters in loss to Revolution

On its third coach of the year and with an influx of new players finding their way, United is pedaling down the sidewalk with training wheels. LAFC is a Maserati on the 405.

    Vroom.

“Oh, yeah, this is a lot of fun,” midfielder Kellyn Acosta said. “When you’re winning, everything’s much more enjoyable, but it’s how we’re winning.”

DCU wins this one, 6-1. Taxi scores five goals. Rooney subs himself in with 3 minutes left and bags the last goal in extra time.

After the game, Pulisic announces intention to get to DC as soon as he can. Turd-loving owners sell the team to Tom Hanks who has secretly been a huge fan of the team since the days of Raul Diaz Arce and Etcheverry.

I feel bad, because I can tell this is going to be a train wreck, and I have personally done nothing to prevent it. God have mercy on my soul.

And what, pray tell, was in your control concerning this train wreck.

(Wait, do you keep the secret of Kasper and Ashton's continued employment?)
