Simons is very skilled and confident but small which is a problem for him along with several of the youngsters at Jong Ajax. If he can develop his body he has a chance to be very good but he has some real work to do in order to buildup his body.
Uhm, if I'm right he didnot move abroad too early. He was a kid of a pro footballer who went to Spain. So he was there already before he started playing football.
Yes, that is correct. Let's hope he doesn't end up winning the Freddy Adu award. Remember that Bojan Kirkic put up unbelievable numbers in the Barca youth teams and made his first team appearance at the age of 17; he's now playing in Japan.
Obviously it’s only been a low sampling so far… but I’ve been pretty surprised by how far along Simons is. I thought he was more of a bench-player, yet he has been taking advantage and making differences in the minutes he’s afforded. Played with a lot of swag and confidence, without being like a spoiled kid. Good techniques on the ball and looks like a willing passer and a solid team player. We shall see how this season progresses for him! Barring injuries or sudden change of fortune, he will be in Jong Oranje in the next selection (or awfully soon), I am very sure of that. The JO’s current AM is Ekkelenkamp. Yikes.
Teams like Barcelona will always prefer promoting the native or local boys. If that fails, then some marketable Brazilian or so. Italian football teams are a bit different but (sadly?) not the top of the pyramid these days.
Sneijder ,Lorenzo Insigne ??? His build seems to be fine. He is quite muscular to compensate for his height. His quiet rugged in duals as well.
XS has the main attitude of a youngster on the big stage, happy to be there and enjoying himself. For the CL qualies however grit and a knife between the teeth is paramount. He will see minutes against Rangers if the need for men is less/opponent worn down enough to let him loose on the Rangers.
I hope he didn't give up too much in salary in his transfer from PSG to Roma. The move seemed by all appearances to be for the purpose of getting back on the national team for Qatar. And now this terrible misfortune. Sigh.....
Frenkie to ManU will probably happen too: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ts-tongues-wagging-filmed-jetting-London.html
Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa to PSV: https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2022/august/31/el-ghazi-departs-villa/ Likely not in the national team frame, but thought it was worth mentioning.
4 goals in 4 matches. Koopmeiners is in great form, he is a sure starter in Oranje, alongside Frenkie.
They still gotta go in though. Looking at you Frank de Boer Looking at you Seedorf Looking at you Jaap Stam
Did Koopmeiners draw those penalties? Either way, I find it fascinating that he was trusted by his team to take the spot kicks.
