I am never trusting another injury report for McKennie again. And not because I think they're deliberately trying to deceive us.
I must admit...pretty psyched he gets the start! Still crazy to see the ups and downs of not making a single preseason appearance, then injury...then this In a way it's a slap in the face of the other midfielders and a HUGE vote of confidence from Allegri. How many MFs has Weston benched or forced the team to sell since his arrival?? It's wild
Title of Game Day Thread at Vecchia Signora: Juventus-Sassuolo, today at 20.45. Gazzetta dello Sport team: 'It will be 4-4-1-1 with Di Maria and Vlahovic in attack, Cuadrado and McKennie on the wings' https://www.vecchiasignora.com/topic/362171-juventus-sassuolo-oggi-ore-2045-formazioni-gds-sarà 4-4-1-1-con-di-maria-e-vlahovic-in-attacco-mentre-sulle-fasce-agiranno-cuadrado-e-mckennie/ PS: Ugh... Juve fans whining about Allegri playing McKennie instead of Kostic or one of the youngsters. Weird, last season they liked Wes. It seems they have turned on him.
It reminds me of last season, when Juventus declared Wes was out for the season so that he wouldn't push himself too hard trying to get back. Maybe the same thing happened here? Still makes me very worried. Alternative hypothesis: He was never injured, but my original guess/joke that Wes and Vlahovic were suspended for something they did in Vegas was correct.
This bench is chock full of 19-21 year olds I've seen play 0-2 times or so. Other than maybe Rovella, I think starting someone else may have been pretty risky.
Wes already has a handshake routine with Di Maria (at 0:28). Come for the Ángel Di María goal on his Juventus debut, stay for his custom handshake with Weston McKennie 🤝(via @CBSSportsGolazo) pic.twitter.com/rwM2r3jgKF— SI Soccer (@si_soccer) August 15, 2022
Wes reminds me of the popular jock in school that played all sports and was friends with everyone regarless of age
Wes with a good shift considering this was his 1st appearance for 1/2 year+ Should have been pulled during the 1st window as you could see he had run out of gas.... but for the 1st 60m minutes he was getting into good spots and hitting on almost all of his passes save that shanked attempted at a outside right boot. I expect to see more of the Wes Beast Mode we are used to as he gains fitness.
After you find it, it's important to come here and imply that it's the unanimous opinion of a large fanbase.
LOL. i just posted something like this on the US youth boards today because, ya know, all our young players are being held back and screwed over by someone. Euro elitists, those who hate the US, incompetent MLS coaches and Garber led conspirators. It can‘t be the player. Ever.
If it did, he'd stick it back on with duct tape and be fine in 3-5 days. Humanity needs Weston McKennie babies. For the survival of humanity, please...
