If you already purchased a ticket before Gareth Bale arrived, his presence has no effect on your demand, regardless of extra motivation. Outstanding demand is high for those without tickets because lots of tickets were purchased weeks or months ago and those still available are scarce. Supply and demand. It’s hilarious because the Gareth Bale fanboys on this board know nothing about what they are talking about. Econ 101.
Check out the pricing for LAFC’s next game at home (DCU) compared with its next Away game in Austin. Not very expensive in LA because not much demand, relatively speaking (cheapest $32 each for a pair a moment ago). Hard to get tix in Austin, so very, very expensive — $150 for a single.
Why are LAFC tickets inexpensive in LA? Already bored with Gareth Bale? If so, then why travel to San José? Oh, yeah, it’s summer and road trips are fun. We Quakes fans should try going to LA sometime. Can’t believe we never thought of it before Gareth Bale burst on the scene.
I don't care so much about the exact reason for the price increase as I do that I'm going to reclaim much of my season ticket $ for a game that I wasn't going to be able to attend anyway.
Name one time in the past 30 years when Bears fans have outnumbered/outcheered Packers fans at Lambeau... The last PayPal game I attended featured farside stands populated almost entirely by LAFC fans who utterly drowned out the hometeam fans. It was mortifying, hearing them stamp their feet thunderously in unison. There has never been a similar situation at GB.
A previous game in which LAFC fans outnumbered Quakes fans at Avaya? Must have been there to see Gareth Bale.
Good news: LAFC has to play a game tonight and we don't - we can rest and train all week. Bad news: LAFC plays the worst team in the league who will be flying across the country - I'm not sure LAFC will even break a sweat tonight.
Lots of ticket pairings available for under $40 each for the LAFC home match tomorrow evening. Gareth Bale effect.
for those fans willing to skip the Gareth Bale show at PPP next Saturday, tickets will drop back down (from $60!) to $27 for all remaining PPP games, which is where they've been all season long!
The funny thing is people will pay a premium to see Bale and there is a decent chance he won't even play. LAFC have plenty of forwards (who are in prime form) and they will need to do rotations as they are playing an extra game this week.
they're a pretty stacked team, even before Bale arrives. probably a bunch of Vela fans show up too. incredibly, Bale wasn't even signed as a DP for them. Saturday is a classic matchup of the have's vs the have-nots...a Quakes win would be delightful, but I expect to see another 4-1 thrashing with Quakes dropping more points at home.
can't blame fish for cashing in on the demand for tickets to the Bale show at PPP...if he sees an opportunity to gouge Quakes fans a little off LAFC's ambition, he should grab the cash! amirite? #saynotogouging
