Couple of Crew 2 roster notes: With 16 pros under MLSNP contract, there's a limit of 8 first team guys who can be on the roster at any one time (practical effect of this is to limit Crew 2 to 8 first teamers on the gameday 20-man). There is one amateur spot left open to add an 11th academy guy.
The Capys gave one up in the first half in Philly. It'll definitely be an exciting race to the season's finish, at least until we make up that home game vs Philadelphia. Noah Fuson equalizes in the 64th. Philly scored in 90+1. Crew 2 with a last-gasp attack, but nothing came of it.
For my future reference, where are these capybaras located? Edit: Nevermind. Jack Hannah's Animal Encounters Village. There's a capybara walk at 10am. https://www.facebook.com/columbuszoo/photos/a.105162722105/10158597198332106/
The DORA opens at 1. Kickoff at 5. It was great to hear the PA guy mention the "Capys" following the first team game.
The Crew 2 team website Roster doesn’t even list all the players like starting Cb Phillip Quinton for example. Ik a lot of guys have gone back and forth and show on SR roster instead of Crew 2 but this guy was a draft pick and is a starter.
I haven't paid close attention to Crew 2 thus far.....are there any other guys who may be close to deserving an opportunity to join the first team? Other than guys we've already seen or who are already signed to the first team (JRR, Farsi, Zawadzki, etc). I don't even know what position they see Parente as but does he have any hope of squeezing into the picture, with younger guys Morris and Zawadzki right on Nagbe and Arturs heels? Do we have anybody close to being ready to contribute at LB, CB, or as a winger?
I was wondering if Quinton was still an unsigned Crew draftee, but Massive Report said he signed a Crew 2 contract back in March: https://www.massivereport.com/2022/...raft-picks-philip-quinton-and-jacob-erlandson It's comforting to see MLS NEXT Pro following maintaining MLS's high standards in the website roster department.
If you bought parking for Crew 2's last home game and didn't get it scanned due to a lack of parking attendant, call your rep. They may be able to issue a refund on the next Crew 2 parking pass which just happens to be the same day as HiR in Cincinnati. It's only $8 or so, but that's a beer or two at a bar.
Were the lots right around LDC full or closed? I was at the Clippers game and assumed the Capy fans all parked further towards the river, but I saw many walking past Huntington Park as I sat in my car waiting for traffic control to end.
There were a few parked on the street south of LDC. The north lot was supposed to be paid (original parking passes honored), but the attendant never showed up. I asked about that and I was offered a refund on my next Crew 2 parking pass. Maybe people parked elsewhere out of habit?
This announcer keeps calling it "Hell is Real" then mentioned someone is calling it "Hell is too Real." (2 real?)

If JRR isn't going to play for Crew1, then they should let him play on Crew2... otherwise Crew2 is just lost offensively
It may be a good idea for him to get minutes with Crew 2 if he’s not playing with the senior team. That said, Crew 2 exists solely to develop talent for that first team. I get it that it’s fun to see them doing so well, but it’s also meaningless.
The wins don't matter but minutes really do. Young developing players need minutes, lots of them. I think we do the players a disservice when we can't get them minutes. I think about so many of the young players we've had over the years that didn't get more than a handful of first team minutes that didn't improve and washed out. Keita I'd say is a prime example. He came to the game late in life. Centerbacks don't get subbed very often so he never really got minutes. Crew 2 would have given him that chance. JRR might be too good for Crew 2, but if he's not getting consistent first team minutes be should be playing with them. So Crew can do it's prime job of developing first team players.
