He is more guaranteed to be available, unlike Bailly.
He played 28 premier league games last year.

I think Bailly is better, but his injury record is the issue. Might be mistaken.

Would be a crying shame if we miss out on Belotti.

I wouldn't be crying like a bit%$ if we won't sign Belotti. He's an average benchwarmer at best.

I'm more concerned about our backlines. Our only "reliable" CB is Smalling.

2 games without him and united conceded 6 goals already. They thought partnering their fridge with Argentinian midget from dutch league is the solution. Get lindelof off from them and let their misery continue.

We need as much good depth as possible. Belotti is a hardworking, pressing forward that also knows where the back of the net is. He would be very useful to us over the course of a full season. Relative to what's available/what we can afford, he's about as good as it gets.

This is not to say that it's the most pressing issue with the squad however.

Today’s game only justifies Belotti imo. Need an alternative when Abraham is having an off day. Right now it’s only El Shaarawy.

In defence of Tammy he was playing on the shoulder and most of our passing came shorter into Zaniolo or Dybala. We didn't pass into the box too often and when we did the quality was lacking. He did have a brilliant moment where he turned Gyomber inside out.

I don't think Belotti offers anything different to Tammy, it'll be amazing to have him for depth and rotation.

I think he is right. He doesnt offer anything different regards play. Belotti perhaps even more hard working. Tammy did struggle yesterday but it was mainly the issue of gelling a new attack. When players really want to over impress and its not working with missed chances, he was left a bit isolated. It will work itself out at they settle in. Between the front 3, the 2 wing backs and Pellegrini now in the middle, this team moves the ball very well. The struggles of last year in build up should mostly eliminated.

Belotti would still be a quality addition. To have 2 strikers of that level, you have got to grab it. When is the last time Roma could say that level was on their books? Belotti will score goals in this side and is capable of still leading the line should Tammy go back to England in a year or 2. It's a strategic forward thinking move.

Belotti and Solbakken are needed asap. Even though Perez was shit, he came on a lot late in games to replace any of our starting forwards. We have no depth on the bench outside of El Sha when it comes to forwards

By the way how broke roma actually is ? 17 teams in serie A spend more than you and you guys are still struggling to get belotti ( another free signing ) without having to sell players?

So what type of response do you think you’ll get with an abrasive comment like that?

to be fair, windrepel asked a valid question, and i wonder the same thing myself personally :)

it hurts to see the Brentfords, Wolves, Bournemouths, and Nottinghams of the world splash the cash and afford to pay competitive player salaries as well, and here we are probably the 4th/5th most reputable/brandable club in Serie A struggling to sign free agents

They lose 200M a year, even a free agent signing is straight from the Friedkins pockets.

Its not unreasonable to first make sure that Eldor is sold before Belotti is signed for multiple reasons:

1-Roster reasons, you can only fit so many players.

    2-Financial reasons which are obvious.

3- Pinto is trying to sell Eldor to Italian scammers, if he signs Belotti first everyone will withdraw their bid for Eldor and force Roma to loan him for nothing.
