The point is less important than the mentality for me. Like I said Chelsea always seems to have our number, even when outplayed. So to flip the script and get a point while playing poorly could be a step forward
Romero is shithousery perfection. Conté is hilarious. Kane is lethal. Beautiful corners from Perisic. Perfect end to the game.
At 90 minutes, I was thinking "as soon as the whistle blows, I'm off to mow my yard before it rains, then I'll start working on the Spitfire, then I'll (whatever will distance me from today's performance) ...". A half hour later, I'm still sat here watching and reading all there is to consume. We were shite - and Chelsea, frankly, were great - but somehow it doesn't quite seem like it. If I were Chelsea*, I'd be really, really frustrated right now. That should've been another typical stuffing for us at the Bridge. Ugh ... the more I think about it ... I think I will go mow my yard now. Still, come on you Spurs!, eh? *just one of a zillion reasons to be glad I'm not.
Not completely shit. We had more shots on goal, 5-3. Except for the first goal, which was more shit defending on a set piece, we looked pretty good. Nice to finally have some guys on the bench that can make a difference when they come in. A good 4 points to start the season - last year we got none from the same fixtures. Tuchel in the early lead for Bell End of the Year.
Chelsea fans are busy whining about Romero not getting sent off while I'm here admiring the fact that Lucas, from his starting position on the equalizer, nearly got to the ball before Kane.
Complete bottle job by Chelsea. They clearly haven't changed since the days of John Terry who acted like he could tell the refs what they should do. Wanting to rule out a goal because of a foul almost a minute before? When your team had had possession in between? You're having a laugh. The Romero hair pull was execrable, and they should have had a foul for it, but guess what, you didn't, so play on. Maybe don't let 4 attackers line up for a header unchallenged in the last minute. I remember another 2-2 game at their place and the narrative was we lost our heads while they celebrated like crazy getting just a point. It's them now, Tuchel most prominently, who have lost their heads.
At 90 min was about to turn it off but saw the 6 min extra time and thought we could still get a point.Hell yeah Kane at the death! The look on every Chelsea fan face, priceless LOL! Teuchel looks and acts like a d*ck so no surprise there boohoo.
I watched the highlights and noticed that Lucas was just low, but in front. Kane was just right, in the middle, and Richarlison was behind, in case Kane missed. Horrible defending by Chelsea. That was also some nice taunting by Conte.
We have a new set-piece coach, some Italian banker type who has a repertoire of more than 4,000 set piece routines - so one of them was bound to go in!
We saw a different Spurs, more of the c**ts that Mourinho was rambling on about in the Amazon doc., except now we actually have some of those types in the team.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62546155 The German suggested that Taylor should not referee Chelsea matches in future.
First goal, the play went on for over a minute before we scored, and they actually had the ball at one point and tried to play out of their area. They lost their rag because they think it's their divine right to beat us - well those days are over and they better get used to it.
Second game in a row where none of the new signings were in the starting XI. Basically, Conte picked the team that lost 4 games against them last season, minus Kulusevski and Bentancur. I think for a game like Chelsea away, Bissouma and Perisic would have been better choices for their dynamism and experience.
Spot on - similar reaction from Liverpool last season when we got a point at Anfield, they expect the old Spurs that would just roll over for them.
I think Perisic, and probably Bissouma, will work their way into the starting lineup soon enough. Once we have 2 games a week, everyone will be starting some games because it will be constant rotation.
Romero got away with another potential red card. I don't know what shithousery magic forcefield Argentinian players have, but they always seem to get away with it.
Tuchel gets a one-match ban (HA-HAA!) https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...lpable-for-clash-with-tottenham-antonio-conte
