You make the call: should Pulisic grind with Chelsea or seek a loan?

not an extreme drop at club level by any means

champions league is fun but reality is he isn't likely to get much playing time in champions league.

There's more to life than getting 10 minute cameos in the Champions League. For Pete's sake..........................this has been going on for a year now. Tuchel doesn't want him. He and Chelsea are reportedly shopping him and Ziyech. [This is after screwing up both the Lukaku, Werner, and other signings as well.]

Whether Pulisic wants to stay at Chelsea or not....................they don't want him! Get it?

I just have a gut feeling that this isn't going to be a good season for Chelsea. Something's not quite right there.

Their transfer season has not seemed to make any sense, and there's definitely a sense that Tuchel has been there too long.

Arsenal is better than them this season, I think, so if Tottenham repeats their season last year, Chelsea could be out of the Top 4.

They have a ton of talent, so perhaps not, but it doesn't seem like there's a plan at all.

I don't think there is a plan, because I don't think even Chelsea knows who is supposed to be in charge of transfers.

Having Boehly in the acting sporting director role is a mess. I'm not a Tuchel fan, but right now you either have to give him the final say on transfers and commit to him or move on and hire a sporting director who will hire the coach. This is the classic case of "I don't know what the right answer is, but I can tell you that the current status isn't it."

Add that to Tuchel's clear dislike of Pulisic, and everyone needs to just move on. Even if Chelsea has to take on some of Pulisic's wages, sell him on and get something for him. It's the classic "sunk cost" fallacy where they're letting past decisions that have committed costs influence their future thinking. Sell him, get something for him, and figure out what you're going to do next.

Tuchel likes him, but mostly off the bench. Could be worse, and any top club he’ll have to produce a lot to become an entrenched starter.

every manager wants to be 2 (or even 3) deep at every spot- thats completely understandable.

...but it doesnt do a damn thing for numbers 2 and 3.

f chelsea. hes been as/more productive than anyone else for them. he should 100% go, with the caveat that the world cup being three months away is a huge "equalizer", if you will.

he should slam a transfer request on that broke-ass michael stipe lookalikes desk first thing jan 1st.

At least he hasn’t been injured in a while. I think he should stay until the end of the World Cup. Keep him warm, but injured free and nice and fresh.

I don’t like that Tuchel hasn’t pushed back against the tabloid accusations that he doesn’t trust Pulisic. That alone makes me think he might want to leave. But he’s actually in a pretty good place leading up to the World Cup (Chelsea play twice a week much of the time so he’ll get plenty of minutes), and with one year left on his contract next summer I think he’ll have more options if he chooses to go then.

I think Tuchel "likes" him, but he likes him less than Sterling, Mount, and Havertz. He's 4th on the list. Pulisic isn't really a #9 and Mount is a lock, so his main obstacle is Havertz. I think Pulisic is better at scoring than Havertz, but Havertz is a better passer. If Havertz does not score soon, I think you will see Pulisic getting starts, and it will vacillate between the two.

Folks act like Tuchel didn't do the exact same thing to Pulisic at Dortmund.

7 minute cameos aren't going to prepare Pulisic for the World Cup.

He's going to lose his spot in the starting XI to Aaronson if he's not careful.

I don't think so at all.

Cuz I think Aaronson is going to crush it at Leeds. When it comes time for the World Cup, most on these boards are going to see Aaronson as a "must start" with the USMNT. Just a prediction. I could be wrong.

Now its possible that Berhalter finds a way to start both Aaronson and Pulisic.

I could totally see Berhalter thinking that Pulisic is "his guy" - - - form be damned. Aaronson could be lighting it up in the EPL up to the start of the World Cup while Pulisic continues to get garbage minutes at Chelsea.
Who starts for Berhalter? It'd be Pulisic.
If this scenario comes to pass, can anyone point to a player (or players) similar to Pulisic's situation but played great/world class at the World Cup? (I'm looking for hope that it's possible a player could play lights out at the WC while his form is rusty coming into the tournament.)

CP pretty much has to un-earn his penned in spot on the roster with crap play for the USMNT whenever he's healthy. He'll need rest though. BA will get his minutes.

I have to ask if each player switched clubs somehow, how each would fare? I have my view.

Pulisic isn't fit to play in Tuchels system right now. Sterling and Havertz are better suited. Mount is entrenched. So that leaves 4th spot open and he is getting those minutes. He will get a spot start here or there but mostly be an injury backup or a leg saver for the big games. I too think he should stay until after the WC but leave either in Jan or next summer. He is a great player who is unfortunately stuck with a manager whose tactics don't align with him. It happens and both will be better with him somewhere else. I mean starting and going 80 for someone like Newcastle is better than bench warmer at Chelsea, gotta be better.

Forlan and the goal machine Miroslav Klose are two who this was a common occurrence for.

Forlan’ s performance in Brazil was the best I have ever seen from a national team player. For the whole tournament he looked like the local pro coming down to play against a U17 team. He excelled with Atletico, but with Uruguay on the big stages he was the best player on the planet. Mad respect. That’s someone who loves his people.

Speaking of Atletico…that would be a nice club for Pulisic. Spain would be a good fit for his skill set and body type.

Whew….ok good to know there is precedent. Hopefully, Pulisic can mirror what these guys did (if he’s coming into the WC rusty).

    Like they need an excuse.

There so much to laugh at about the US outside of soccer right now…and then we’ll show up to the World Cup in tie dye.

They’ll probably have pity on our players.
