I was thinking the same thing. I want to believe that Peter having seen what was going on with Sweat in this game would likely have brought on Logan if he could.

we're so bad at clearing the ball from our own area. and who was it that literally centered the ball on his pathetic clearance attempt on austin's first goal? i think it was sweat, but i'm not sure. whoever it was, needs to re-enroll into soccer 101... and then never play for this team again.

just awful to not be able to hold that lead.

Yes it was Sweat on the first goal, but let’s also not forget Fontas wiffing on the header right in front of him.

Looking at the stats, while we gave up possession 67-33, we were just about even going in at the half. the second half, we were kind of hoping the three whilstles would come around minute 55. I mean, I was. Stupid ref, playing 90 plus stoppage time? Obviously, he was pro Austin.
While I agree with everyone on the disappointment of the final result/collapse/whatever, at least it was fun. I thought we might get a point even at the end of regulation. Though I thought we had a shot at 3 points only until the 63rd minutes, when I became a very sad and pessismistic SKC fan.
But went after a really solid side and it was worth watching an entire game. that is not the definition of this year.
The stats show that we did outscore them on xG, so yippee! Actually, it showed that we lost because their first two goals were extremely low percentage, 1 in 20 and one in 12 goals. Our goals were actually goals we would have been expected to score.
And Agada really could have found a fourth for us. If he had, they probably would have won 5-4, but still.
The one really negative thing we can take away from this is the point made several times, our bench is hella shallow. we did play everyone who really should have played in this one, assuming Logan N is not really ready. Maybe we could have subbed in Tzionis earlier, for JFR? But I'm not sure that was a smarter play.
Looking at our passing map, the positioning of just about everyone was spot on textbook, except maybe, despite being quite good, Roger was showing that his legs really weren't up to 73 minutes. The players who connected us most consistently were, of course Fontas, and, less likely this season, Zusi

Also, let's not forget that results are meaningless for the rest of 2022. What matters is what we're seeing for 2023, and this game gave some hope.
So, we will have some room on the roster, and some cap space, and two really influential players back, I hope.
I suspect we pick up the Isi option. I also suspect that with a very high draft pick this year, we can add at least a spot-starter by either wisely using or trading away that spot.
And with the money we will have, we should be able to bring in a couple starters. this side, right now, could be good with a couple additions.
Man, I have written four or five really negative things here, but keep erasing them because I'm pro-SKC in 2023.

I agree they could be decent in 2023 and that's the only reason to watch any more games this season.

That said, to be competitive in 2023 we need two outside backs, two center backs, a keeper and a DM. No small task for the FO.
