Either that uniform has a slimming effect or he’s gotten in better shape of late. Handful of of sub appearances, some of them garbage minutes, a couple of goals. I wonder why he can’t start.

There's a video in the link you provided. Someone called him "chocomilk", which Altidore found offensive and hence batted at the guy's phone, all the while telling him, basically, that he's an idiot ("No seas cagón"). There's definitely no "attack" by Altidore that any reasonable observer would recognize.
