De Zerbi and Dionisi have had a pretty good track record developing talent thus far. I'm not sold on Moyes teaching him anything new. Maybe the competition and environment will help him grow on his own. We'll find out. Milan should have let Ibrahimovic go and Scamacca could have been useful as a challenge to Giroud. Ibra gets to call the shots on him leaving, and Maldini wasn't going to force retirement on a legend like him.

De Zerbi had Scamacca very briefly. Dionisi is up and coming but still has a lot to prove. I don't want to repeat myself, but Sassuolo is a very overrated project and IMO the player has hit his ceiling.

I agree that Scamacca would have been comfortable in Milan. Also Fiorentina would have been a great fit. Let's see what happens

Casadei to Chelsea, and Udogie maybe Zaniolo to Spurs.

I'm hoping Bastoni doesn't continue to tail off (he had a poor 2022 so far in my opinion), and Gatti/Scalvini give us enough youthful depth at CB for the next 4 years.

Goalkeeping could be an issue. We need alternatives to Sleeparumma. The Germans have had alternatives for years...we should strive to be in the same position. More ready goalkeepers doesn't hurt a national team at all.

Unfortunately Meret was a total bust at the highest level and promising talents like Plizarri from a few years ago have not made the jump. Hopefully Carnesecchi can get over his injury and play at the Serie A level, he was all set for Lazio then got injured.

For backups i like Golini at Fiorentina who will play in Europe as well as Vicario from Empoli who was to me the most impressive goaltender i saw in Seri A last year. The guy single handedly kept them in games at times

Very surprised that Vicario didn’t earn a transfer this summer. I thought for sure he would have landed in Fiorentina, but they decided to go for Gollini. Meret would have been perfect in a mid table club like Torino. There was a deal to send him to Spezia, but that collapsed. The guy is in limbo

Scamssuolo continue to punish their young players by attaching high price tags to them. Raspadori valued at 45 million is insane. At 45 million you should be getting a ready player that guarantees you 20+ goals. Napoli have seemingly backed off. Still to be seen if Juve will come for him but I think this is also high for them. Instead of playing in CL, he will dwindle another year in mid table mediocrity.

Same thing for Frattesi who had a deal with Roma collapse. Now Milan are seemingly interested, but this figure is also too high for them.

Good to see Pinamonti on the verge of leaving Inter. Way too talented...should be playing for a big four Italian club every game, but big four Italian clubs have the interest equivalent of a teenage girl when it comes to developing Italian players and giving them experience.

Luca Pellegrini on the way to Frankfurt. His Azzurri career has ended before it even started. No way Mancini or any other Italian coach will track his progress...way too lazy are Italian coaches when it comes to scouting outside Italia. Just look at Grifo...should have been a fixture on the national team by now. Easily one of the best players in the Bundesliga and Mancini acts like he doesn't know who he is. Oh well.

Udogie has been left out of Udinese’s lineup as his move to Spurs is imminent.

Good for him and Conte who will get a lot of out him. Shame on Inter for absolutely sleeping

Sickening that the federation allows this to go on. We're at the point where 25% of starters will be Italian, if that. I'm not sure what can be done but our national team is finished as a European power until this gets better.

I think Inter could have used him more, as I suspect they bought a lemon in Gosens and Darmian is nearing the end.

As for Juve, you guys bought a very good young Italian LB Cambiaso and sent him packing immediately to Bologna. Pellegrini was judged “not ready” and loaned to Frankfurt (not a bad move). So Allegri is putting all his eggs in the Sandro/ Kostic basket. Allegri typifies the worst aspects of Italian soccer. The young player is never ready and there is no patience to make someone better.

    Pobega played today...I wasn't impressed.
He looked way out of his depth. I prefer Krunic.

Its reached apocalypse levels, the federation is powerless, Serie A is by far the worst for domestic players in all of europe surpassing even England which I never thought would be possible, we have reached rock bottom levels. The only solution I see is for young players to move away from Serie A and not go to Serie B.

Couldn't they mandate a certain number of Italians on the roster...i believe that happened in the 60's after Italy missed the world cup. It could happen again imo. Also a few years ago i believe there was something that mandated each team had to have a few players that had come up from the youth sector on the squad. I think it was three players but that should be doubled or tripled.

looking at the starting lineups this weekend...good lord serie a is a joke. Can't really see Italy qualify for another worldcup until things change.
