McT plays it straight out from the middle of the pitch, under no pressure and pass was not even close to anyone …

Eriksen probably wishing he had stayed at Brentford.

Two games and he has been played as a false #9 and a #6.

We need some squad depth so we dont have to play square pegs in round holes,

Hopefully this is the end of the Shaw era.

These commentators continue to harp on about the amount of fight in this United side. Regardless of how much fight, some of these players are just not good enough. The side has more than enough of these types of players.

    somehow it stayed at 4.

wouldn't even be mad if Varane, Sancho, Fernandes, Ronaldo all handed in transfer requests after this.

it looked like we took another covid break and last season never really ended. some of these players should never play for the club again. even in the U23s or other U-leagues.

    utter embarrassment some of them

More like Brentford came back from HT in cruise control, leaving Man Utd the opportunity to, at will, do nothing of value

How strange that Sky did not go to the pundits after the game !!!

Maybe they were too scared to be honest ?!

ETH looking out of his depth already. Against Brighton and Brentford. But just watch the next one, we'll squeeze out a 1-1 or something like that, and all will be right with the world.

Varane is fine but too often injured.

Too soon to tell with Lisandro

Donny maybe, will have to see - if EtH cant get a tune out of him in this league then nobody can.

I’ve hated the narrative around Lisandro as a short CB. His actual win/loss rate coming out of this game will most likely be fine - it was the second balls around him that we were criminally bad with. That’s why we subbed that entire side at half time. I think you can say a bigger CB wins that header vs Mee for goal 3 but it’s Sky pundits reaching for the easiest solution and pushing a narrative that supports big British lumps.

But the biggest culprit for the first three goals is easily De Gea, by a landslide. The fourth is an excellent counter, but my god what is Maguire’s tracking like there? He’s away with the fairies, turning 2 at the back into Lisandro covering the entire width of the pitch alone.

DDG at least asks Sky to do an interview and comes out and apologises - says his mistakes cost the team the game.

Dont remember Mag ever owning his mistakes in an interview or asking for one to apologise.

he usually does that "we" crap.

"we know we need to do better. we know it's not good enough. we are working hard."

we're probably all tired of hearing the apologies and excuses. based on overall play we'd have lost anyway so DdG's apology is meaningless

Nothing wrong with short CBs. Cannavaro, Baresi, de Boer, Cordoba, etc.

Simple truth is team lacks confidence and we don't play to our players' strengths. There are pieces missing to the puzzle in order to play the way ten Hag has set out to play.

Need to face reality. Play 3 CMs or 3 CBs. Drop one of the forwards (I think use Rashford from bench). We need to do this for the next little while until we can sign someone like de Jong who would allow ten Hag to play his style.

Maybe put Cristiano on loan for 6 months to Napoli or Sporting. I wouldn't even replace him. Start a young lad like Garnacho or play Martial. Bring him back for crunch time in Europa. Maybe swap Cristiano for Osimhen if we really need to end it with him.

Sign Rabiot if we can't get de Jong and coach him to fulfill the de Jong role.

That's about all we should do for the remainder of the transfer window.

Ronaldo and McClaren had a bust up post game. So things just keep getting better.

Too many not up to snuff players in the squad. Turnaround is going to take time.

The recruitment has been so bad that there are no buyers for the deadwood. They have to be loaned out or they have to stay. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

This BS leaked into the post-match interview with ten Hag. They were asking about Lisandro and adding height. Utter crap. Where are these questions about Maguire and Luke Shaw?

Bruno was amazing, its his bad teammates letting him down! Its evident that Ronaldo is the problem in this team, he brings down other players performances with his whinging and sulking. Before he showed up, United was dominating in preseason. His presence has killed the teams morale

    So many things wrong with the set-piece goal;

    - Eriksen doesnt block Toney run
    - Dalot doesnt track flight of ball and loses back post header
    - DDG doesnt move quickly enough to deal with header which lands near his goal line
    - Martinez doesnt jump at all (it wasnt like he was out-jumped - he just flubbed doing anything)

Yeah I don’t even think that 3rd goal Martinez loses out due to physicality - I will have to watch it again but it didn’t look like an outmuscling, neither player really seemed to tussle for it particularly.

We can talk about the elite keepers like Ederzon or Allison, but I genuinely think if Utd had Raya or Sanchez in goal today, none of those 4 goals happen.

    1st one - obvs
2nd one - they don’t play a hospital pass like that in a million years, especially not after a clear near miss barely a minute before
    3rd one - aerial presence
4th one - they come off their line and sweep up.

DDG has saved our bacon too many times to count. He is allowed to have a bad game what is not acceptable is the attack the amount of opportunities that we provided through poor defense and an inability to actually get quality shorts on goal.

    It's more complicated than that.

He looked shaky in the first game too. He's not comfortable with the ball. This bleeds into the team build up and poor decisions.

Furthermore, he's so focused on the distribution game (because he's not confident in it) that it leads to mental lapses and losses of confidence in other areas too.

no offence but you are delusional regarding De Gea, blinded by your personal liking of him. He is not a good goalkeeper, there is a reason why he is 4th choice for Spain (even behind the likes of Kepa....). All he is good at is shot stopping. His other attributes are pretty bad (ball distribution, sweeping, aerial control)

The chance when Rashford was through and the brentford keeper rushed out and won the ball is something De Gea is incapable of.
