Tillman with another header... and again it's tweeted out by US Soccer which may mean something. yall really need to add "almost half the time" whenver you talk about acostas set pieces. that legend is getting pretty outsized...
Total OT but Im not sure Ten Hag lasts ten games at Man U This is already "youll be sacked in the morning" bad.
Actually Man United may not be "OT" for us much longer unfortunately... All these "Dest to Man United rumors" over the last two days, just ignoring them hoping they go away... it would be totally insane if Dest left for the ONLY big Euro club that is even more of a clusterf*** than Barcelona
He could legitimately be canned after this game. This is diabolical I caught last weeks Man U game too. Of course its early days, but they could be a serious relegation candidate. They actually look like the worst team in the premiership right now
Also looks like Bamford picked up another injury, and it could be significant. Marsch is going to need to go find a striker before the window closes

Sad fact for their fans is that United have basically been irrelevant since Ferguson left. They've got an FA Cup, a Europa League title and some community shield and that's it in the past 10 seasons w/o him. Zero Champions League Titles or Runner Up Champions League finishes, zero EPL Titles. Looking back, it looks like Ferguson won like 5 EPL titles in his last 7 seasons, had a Champions League win, and 2 runner up finishes as well. Basically they were getting silverware of some mega value at a higher rate than every other year. Since he left, it's been about Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and a miraculous Leicester win etc and whether Manchester United will even qualify for Champions League soccer let alone be competitive in it. This is 10 years running of this, it's not an abberation. Manchester United is now basically an average to above average EPL team, and no better, period. Their fans don't get that. They want to fix it, they need to basically do a full tear down and rebuild of everything, hire people who run other orgs much better than they run their own. Blaming the Dutch dude, when the rot has been growing for a decade is absurd. This failure is the result of a decade of mismanagement. Not some guy who showed up this summer.
If their fans are smart, they’re not going after Ten Hag, but the higher management. This is a total rebuild. One manager can’t do that in 3 months.

Furthermore every manager is screwed because the players realize that ownership won't back the manager in even the smallest of fights. It's a team of dudes collecting paychecks.
Sands was not in the 18 and I couldn't find if it was a knock or just resting for next week when they host PSV in UCL quali. Mntime, if you ever thought about subscribing to the NYTimes, note that a subscription to TheAthletic is included with NYTimes subscription. That means I got to read a long article analyzing Sands' play last week in UCL v. belgians. Good on them to spot something that Berhlater should be aware of (pics not included): Rangers’ James Sands is finally making his mark at Ibrox after challenging start - The Athletic "A noticeable improvement Sands has brought to the backline is the speed at which he shifts the ball. He is not an adventurous passer but while Goldson can often be guilty of playing square passes that trundle to his opposite centre-back, Sands keeps the tempo high. He looked to play the ball in front of Goldson whenever possible so he could step into the game. But, in the example below, although Sands plays the optimal pass, Goldson is flat-footed; he has to rush onto the ball and then can’t get it under control ....he scans the pitch as the ball is approaching so he has a full picture of the game in his head. He lets the ball come onto his back foot and almost kills it as he knows his next pass is to Tom Lawrence. By taking two quick touches he shifts the ball before USG can shuffle across ......, he could play the ball left to Borna Barisic straight away but he chooses to travel slowly towards Vanzeir as he knows he will eventually have to engage with him. Once he does, it is the trigger to release the ball, and there is space for Barisic to move into as Vanzeir can’t get across in time Unlike Brooks who is a great passer from a static position, Sands' technique accumulates small advantages in space that continuously pushes the line of confrontation which has the effect of putting the opponent on the back foot sooner or later. Sands may not be a man for all seasons but a manager like Bronckhorst knows what he's got and is good at using it. Let's see how Berhlater does.
Hoping for a Pulisic loan to Newcastle (at least until Tuchel is eventually fired), hoping against Dest to the disaster that is Man United... https://www.bbc.com/sport/62527017 Newcastle United could target Chelsea's 23-year-old USA forward Christian Pulisic. (The Athletic via Mail) ... Barcelona are negotiating with Manchester United about selling USA full-back Sergino Dest, 21, with the Spanish club wanting 20m euros (£17m). (Sport via Bild)
Bello subbed on at '62 in a L0-2 in 2BL Pepi sub on at '93 in a W1-2. At least he got on the pitch. Scally went 90 in a D2-2 at Schalke. Average performance especially on the offensive side of the ball. Schalke could sure use John Brooks to shore up our defense. We are getting killed on set pieces especially because we have a GK who spills claims for goals. In a different financial climate he would already be wearing royal blue.

Newcastle is definitely going to move way up in the next few years prestige wise. They are limited by financial fair play rules in how much they can spend, but they are definitely aspiring to the level of the big 6 teams.
Yay Richey! Even if it's too late for WC consideration (though I'd love to see him called into a Sept camp), congratulations from him fighting his way back from injury. Edit: and then I read the rest of the thread ..... Best of luck to RL! Aside: it's funny that the Eredivisie is unavailable from any streamer. When I first started watching int'l soccer, it's my recollection that the Eredivisie was the only league that was shown in the U.S. It was on ESPN. I became a big Feyenoord fan, largely because of Henrik Larrson (sp?). But, I also liked Ed de Gooey in goal. And, I recall a tough mf named Kiprich, and a speedy outside guy named Reggie Blinka? That was when Ajax was a super power. They were pretty much the Dutch NT (Bergie, Kluivert, Davids, Seedorf, Overmars, Reizeger, Van der Saar, Blind, the DeBoers, Bogarde) and a great Finnish player - one of my favorites, named Jari Littmannen.
