You have to watch very closely, but late in the first half of Southampton vs. Leeds, there was a fan wearing a Sounders jersey with Zulily.
Sean McDermott is wearing a Philadelphia Union shirt for his press conference today. The team plays in the MLS Cup this weekend. His brother, Tim, is the president of the team. pic.twitter.com/rD3M4sHiwP— Alaina Getzenberg (@agetzenberg) November 2, 2022
I have seen several different Seattle Sounders Jerseys at the World Cup. Also, two fans were wearing the 2020 Philadelphia Union jerseys.
Immigration line at the airport in Cabo, saw a kid in a black Adidas kit with white 3-stripes and the generic MLS logo where the club logo normally goes..
Watching last night's NCIS: LA (yeah, I know, "OK Boomer") and the two younger agents just had a discussion about LAFC vs. the Galaxy. Mentioned LAFC being "the flavor of the month", Galaxy being the OG in LA, and the atmosphere at the Banc. Ended with them agreeing to go to the next El Traffico together to settle the debate.
On the ESPN broadcast of Pens vs. Caps they showed a graphic about playoff streaks in the "four major leagues." The commentator immediately brought up MLS, said don't get mad he would've included the league if was up to him. Interesting moment, especially since ESPN doesn't even have the MLS rights anymore.
Not really sure this is the best thread to post this, but thought this was funny: https://www.yahoo.com/news/long-shot-candidate-trying-qualify-143642266.html
It's good. In "The Americans" the son was an avid NASL fan though that was probably only to make the timeline seem authentic. In the up to date sequel I'm making up in my head right now the son is a Loudoun United fan and pro/rel truther.
Somebody's marketing department is not as clued into MLS as they think they are... @Ismitje in particular may appreciate this horrible combination
Will next week’s campaign have a Timbers shirt and Sounders shorts? How about a Galaxy shirt and LAFC shorts? Yeesh.
Do other leagues have the days where everyone wears the same colors? I can see where the confusion arose for a non-MLS fan. But it surely isn't a fortunate mistake.
I think MLS is the only league that has a contract with a manufacturer. In the rest of the world the clubs have individual contracts.
