for my evidence I cite David Robinson who grew over 8 inches in 3 years at the Naval Academy - so no I am not a doctor but know enough about math and statistical distributions such that Gio could still be growing. Yes I said - “I wonder” as in I am speculating like anyone else on the first Amendment protected platform.
I was 6 ft 3 at 12/13 and then grew to my current height of around 6 ft 6 after 19. A lot of my tall friends had similar early large growth spurts and smaller late growth spurts. Some had late growth spurts at 16-17 and some were in college.
Yea I get it. I’m 37 and I’m still growing too. bottom line is that’s it’s extremely extremely unlikely that Gio is still growing at 19.8 years old. So unlikely that it isn’t worth speculating on. Tall tale bigsoccer anecdotes aside.
He's likely finished growing, but there are certainly some men who still grow at 20 or 21. I'd take out the "extremely extremely".
For me, who has also gone through puberty, the main point is the odds are so scientifically small that more than 5 people give a shit about this conversation that it's not worth discussing any further.
Probably true but wtf is there to even say about this player? Potentially the most talented USMNT of all time, plagued by injuries, can’t even play. It sucks.
I still think it is too soon to say that he is plagued by injuries. Certainly the needle is pointed in that direction but hammy injuries can be tricky. It can look like they are all healed up... the player comes back and boom... it happens again. At this point Gio's injuries are eerily similar to Tim Weah's. They both lost a ton of time to a hammy... came back and then out with a hammy again. Tim only played 84 minutes in 19/20... and Gio played roughly 600+ minutes in 21/22. We just have to hope that BVB is being extra cautious right now and that Gio will come back gradually this Fall and be at full strength by November.
This is the silver lining: the longer Gio goes without playing, the more we all learn about human biochemistry.
For those 5 people I will bring up a friend from junior high. Grew from 5-0 to 6-0 at 20-21 like all of his brothers and dad.

I can't see how you guys want this guy to be one of the centerpieces of our team with his injury history.
Because when he's healthy,he's a great player for us.Unless watching Paul Arriola gets you all warm and fuzzy.
