Columbus is in the top tier of the Eastern Conference while the Rapids are trying to get themselves above playoff line. Will the Rapids figure out how to defend or will they need to score 4 or more goals to win? Will Zardes have extra motivation given Caleb Porter's comments about him? 1558200317929480192 is not a valid tweet id
Here's a reason to be optimistic about the Rapids ability to play their style: 1557861181439631361 is not a valid tweet id
2-2 draw, goals by Zardes and Rubio. Zardes had a less than pleasant separation from the Crew when he was traded and I think he's going to want to show them what they're missing. That and the weakness on the flanks should be enough to keep us in the game, but I'm not sure we get over the hump for 3 points. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2022/08/col-vs-col.html
1-1. There has to be a normal soccer score sometime, doesn’t there? Barrios hustles in a goal on an assist from Rubio.
I like the 4-3-3 and the lineup. Sluggish start. Out of sync. Several quality balls in the box from Columbus including the goal.
I’ll take it. Columbus on the front foot all first half. We go into halftime 1-1, that’s a win. Hopefully we regroup and altitude starts taking its toll in the second half.
Lewis having a noticably poor game. Tons of turnovers with zero impact. Would love to see him the first sun for Nicholson or Toure.
Very….oddly (poorly) officiated game. Tons of ticky tack calls. Columbus constantly going to ground all game (some valid, some obviously embellished). Still no clue why the Rapids bench got a RED CARD???
1-1 tie. Would have liked to see more intensity at the end, but I understand it with Toure injured. Oh well, we needed three, but only scored on a PK. Needed an individual play by anyone, which we didn’t get.
For much of the game we were outplayed considerably. Way, way too much room given in the midfield. I have complained here about Esteves in the past, but he set a new low in this game. Lewis poor; Barrios early gave away ball after ball, but his drive was as impressive as ever. Kudos to Rosenberry as well for his constant hustle. If Toure's injury isn't an ACL, I will be very suprised. What a shame. The red card was given to the strength coach for one too many F-bombs directed at the AR on that side. More than fortunate to escape with a point.
