The expansion side Central Florida Crusaders have hired Tom Traxler as HC of both the men and women's teams. Recall he worked with Andrew Haines as coach for the Sea Wolves (also in Orlando) before they folded during COVID. https://www.cflcrusaders.com/news/c...RJoSJOcgrtqA7JCORLee8tyg9E7647Y9S58KA6FRJs0Ac
Well, it was. As of this past weekend in the 2023 season, the men's team is 7-0 and the women's team is 4-3. Just one small problem. Traxler is also the soccer coach for Winter Park High. And on March 9, he was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He's been accused of hosting a party house. He's coached three games for the Crusaders since then (consecutive days two weekends ago), with no announcement from the team.
In case you were wondering about NISL expansion teams, the bustling metropolis of Albany, Ga. is home to their next team. Players can look forward to spending the night in the Albany Civic Center at least once. https://www.nislpro.com/news/first-expansion-market-of-2024-announced-by-nisl
I've never understood the European-style names in indoor. Indoor's a uniquely American style of soccer.
It makes sense because in almost all cases Andrew hanes does all the work, builds the teams, finds the players and the staff, Sponsors. Arenas. Then finds the investors and sell off his ownership stake in the teams. Then Merchandise and everything else is ordered and designed though Haines Creative agency. The man is not Dumb. He is the only one making any money in indoor soccer at this point LOL
He's certainly savvier than the people he sells teams to. Luckily for him, there's one born every minute.
Memphis is taking a "hiatus", which in these circles is the polite way of saying "they're folding unless they find someone else to pay the bills". But they found more teams. Including the mythical Exhibition. https://www.nislpro.com/news/national-indoor-soccer-league-unveils-full-2024-sc
