I don't doubt this - DC is obligated by MLS to self-limit its number of good players to no more than one at a time. Rooney the player and Lucho together means that we're stuck with only Taxi for the next decade since we were above limit for a while. Still, why would this guy Fletcher sign here instead of Germany or somewhere else? Wouldn't his parents want him to get the best training and experience available? Surely they don't think some ragtag organization run by MLS's Vinny Cerrato is the best thing out there.
Soccermom and dad often don't know better. I don't know if I should rep you for "MLS's Vinny Cerrato" or curse you for reminding me of him.
I think the idea of using the term "a Vinny Cerrato" or "Vinny Cerratoed" every time the DCU FO ********s up is brilliant. Sort of like the Formula 1, phrase that Ferrari "Ferarraried that up again."
No, that's fair, but I'm playing Najar at RB over Gressel, again, at the price point, for cap considerations, in a 4 back. When Gressel's played at RB, he doesn't get forward enough to make it worth the $$. He just doesn't have the wheels, and he's not a standout defender, either. What he is, is stout. I have questions about how long Najar will be able to stay on the field.
And it’s official … Hines-Ike is done for the year and we (even more) desperately need help at center back. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/dc-united-defender-brendan-hines-ike-out-for-season Maybe John Brooks is really a target after all …
Hines-Ike was a disappointment for me this season. I thought he was great last season before the injury and really expected him to step up into a best XI type this season. Instead, it’s been a struggle and a historically bad defense. I don’t think I need to see him back, but I believe he’s under contract so I hope he can bounce back.
I agree — he’s not been the same player since last year’s injury. I’m hoping shutting him down until next year gives him an opportunity to recover fully. But between his form and Birnbaum’s further regression, we’re really struggling to defend. I’m hoping a four-back set will help, but now we’re looking at Pines and/or Alfaro getting major minutes, and that just isn’t a recipe for success.
Was that real or just some random thing begun out of nowhere by some twitter account nobody has heard of?
I saw that the other day. The number of followers on the account is a giveaway that it's probably not legit.
We may have picked up this guy while Durkin is developing into someone who can deliver the incisive pass on offense.
I picked mine up from the STM desk (by the elevators on the first level of the East stands) at the last home match.
Yes. I think we got an email noting we could select a game at which we'd pick up our stuff. Not sure if that's a requirement.

Apparently, 3 of them no longer count as International players. Not sure how they got a green card so fast: Romo, Rodriguez, Morrison. https://www.mlssoccer.com/clubs/d-c-united/roster/ Estrada has left for Mexico.
