Following the departure of Yimmy Cuellar to CD Platense, Alianza FC has promoted Sergio Sibrian from the reserves to the first team.

He will be second to Mario Gonzalez in the goalkeeping hierarchy.

Man what a fall from grace. To think many of us were waiting for him to break out and it never happened.

Gotta blame that weird move of trying to go abroad and never getting the chance. He went 7 months with no activity, and then he struggled to cement himself when he came back.

I think another thing is complacency by the brass they don’t push the players to level up. I mean shit Zelaya is done, done and is still with the club, also to show how rough the striker situation is the top scorer this past season was Bladimir Diaz with nine goals! That is just downright embarrassing and then they get mad when our strikers can’t score for the NT.

It’s a combination of so much, but at the end of the day you’re right. We haven’t produced a quality ST in some time. I’m hoping that kid from SKC has some success for us

Also the fact the second highest goalscorer was a defender Colombian Andres Quejeda just shows how bad last season was for strikers.
Whether its due the same coaches being rotated by the clubs meaning lack of ideas, Poor depth in strikers by clubs or poor fields conditions, could be debated for all time

    2022 Apertura News

FAS have new owners, they acquired by American group AGM sports, Looks like they will keep Guillermo Moran as president, Jorge Zarco Rodriguez will most likely be Sporting director, the next coach will be a foreign player .

Hopefully Firpo will get new owners as well.

Wishlist this season is we get more teams with new owners or clubs begin to be managed better , and slowly the news of players not being paid becomes a thing of the past

With suspension avoided and the league being at a halt the action doesn’t stop Nations League action took over and well the embarrassment continues.

Aguila drew 1-1 against Alajuelense at home only to go and get thumped 3-0 on the away game.

Meanwhile Platense also drew 0-0 against Verdes from Belize on the road okay considering they were closing back home*. Well so much for that because they drew again 2-2 and lost out on away goals.

Verdes advances to face Alianza who will perform better but well this tweet addressing what should be a concern if Alianza makes it deeper in this competition.

Águila has signed Tomas Granitto and Allexon Saravia, as well as Mexican player Jahir Barraza.

Glad to see Allexon managed to find a club after being inactive.

    This is a joke.

The fact none on the FO side are being punished is laughable.

Central American Cup is underway and yeah these squads trash.

    Jocoro FC 1-4 Cobán Imperial

    Herediano 2-0 Águila

    Xelajú 2-1 FAS

Well the Central American Cup ended and three clubs went in and none advanced they finished with a record of 1-11-0. The results are as follows.

Jocoro FC was the worst performing club out of the three but not by much embarrassingly enough. They were sent in to just fill in the spot many felt belonged to Alianza. Some speculate it went to Jocoro more as a punishment to Alianza than by the clubs own merits looking at the results yeah…

    Jocoro FC 1-4 Coban Imperial
    Jocoro FC 0-4 Saprissa
    C.D. Universitario 4-1 Jocoro FC
    C.S. Cartagines 5-0 Jocoro FC

    Jocoro finished with a 0-4-0 record and a -15 (+2/-17) GD

FAS some thought did an okay revamp but from what has been seen the new ownership really did just the bare minimum. Here are the results and yeah it doesn’t get any better for the “Rey de Copas.”

    Xelaju 2-1 FAS
    FAS 0-2 Real Esteli FC
    FAS 2-4 C.D. Olimpia
Independiente de La Chorrera 5-0 FAS

    FAS finished with a 0-4-0 record and a -10 (+3/-13) GD

Finally Aguila many believed they had done the best job in reinforcing the club for this competition oh how wrong they were. The only saving grace (if you could call it that) which was really fools gold was the one win they accomplished and they struggled to the bitter end to get that one. The club they beat is from Nicaragua take with that what you will.

    Herediano 2-0 Aguila
    Aguila 1-0 Diriangen FC
    Aguila 1-4 Comunicaciones FC
    Real España 3-0 Aguila

    Aguila finished with a 1-3-0 record and a -7 (+2/-9) GD

What we learned is what we already knew the speed of the local league is in constant slow motion and speed destroys them. Yet somehow this is Hugo’s fault, I honestly would be shocked if they get three spots again.

Been forever since an update but what can I really post that hasn’t been posted before.

    • Attendance is abysmal which shows people don’t want to spend to watch below average football, the Miami friendly proved that.
    • Payments teams are behind except one, but the lack of punishing clubs is inconsistent and embarrassing. Two lower division clubs suffered heavy sanctions while Firpo who has been an ongoing problem has gotten slaps on the wrist.
    • Coaching Carousel what can I add that hasn’t already.

Aguila will cooperate with the investigation.
