Shrug. Stay at Feyenoord and get some garbage time, or likely substantially more time at Fortuna. They are also in the Eredevisie. Fortuna is still working on the arrival of Cole Bassett but they have not yet agreed w/ Feyenoord & Colorado. “We haven't given up on him,” Ultee says. "We have been interested in Bassett for a long time, but it's complicated. I'll be very happy when we finally have him in."— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) August 5, 2022
Agreed. As the fifth CB and 3rd DM he has a chance to be on the roster. Also agree about Cannon as an emergency CB in a three back set. Believe Scally could also do it but because he hasn't with his club yet he won't be seen that way but his value is in being able to play left or right back. The whole thing is a giant jigsaw puzzle that can't be completed until the last minute because of injury concerns. I'm sure they've run through some scenarios but injuries, versatility and form will decide the last few spots.
While versatility is certainly a valuable asset with the expansion of the rosters to 26 that has been diminished just a bit.
Believe the latest word on Bassett is that Fortuna Sittard wants to get him on loan but being as he’s being loaned to Feyenoord from the Rapids, that is the hump to get over. Sittard is determined to get him though it has been reported.
USMNT international Weston McKennie returned to (partial) training today with Juventus ✅ pic.twitter.com/qXqJ5PduHb— Takes 🇺🇸 (@USMNTTAKES) August 10, 2022 ...and #USMNT teammates @zacksteffen_ 👊 #UTB https://t.co/0CBom8kdsa pic.twitter.com/sLkn8JiWgA— Middlesbrough FC (@Boro) August 10, 2022
Well of course Mckennie is already back in training. I'm sure the medical world wants to get their hands on his genome at this point. Not to mention the military...
Im just happy he signed with Middlesbrough. Might not be the perfect move, but its the move he needed right now.
That was poorly stated on my part, my argument was more that when it comes to Tillman, if you think he's blocked because we are strong at CM and WF, the guy's played 1/3 of his career at striker, so there's more to his versatility than just midfield and Wing Forward or right or left sided mid. It doesn't mean he will play striker, just that he could, especially if we want to find a way to get him on the field (and striker is one of our three weakest positions). Gogoroth is right on what Berhalter said, as well, when he spoke of Tillman's fit with the program in May he talked exclusively about him as a 10/Central Mid, and Wing Forward, or sided Mid. He never mentioned striker if I remember right.
Hopefully it's the start of a new era, of piles and piles of depth challenging the starters and the bench of the 23/26 every cycle. There have been real concerns about the '04's and '05's but it did sound like the '06's and '07's were looking better (and it definitely sounds like at least a decent sized chunk of the problems w/the '04's and '05's can be layed at the feet of the instability created by the shut down in 2020).
A bit too "the real slim shady" about it. Who convinced him to do that? Such a bad idea. I liked the Morrisey/pompadour better.
Given that it's a shoulder injury and he's already back in training, hopefully it won't take West very long to get back to the level we need him at... also good sign that he's still looking like he's lost some weight.
Weston looks like hes going to be a monster.........an absolute monster. I hate just looking at someone's face and body composition to make a judgement call but that guys been in the best shape I can remember. Dude is going to be a tank for us in Qatar.
I don't know what's worse, that or the spot on McKennies head where it looks somebody vomited. He really should drop that look.
I'm guessing he does it to differentiate himself from Cuadrado for maybe his relatives? From a far away camera they look a lot alike and adding the - well whatever you call that - makes it easier to pick him out.
I think we should go back and find all the reasons you dislike McKennie. Could probably be a best seller....the list would be long....now its his hair....LOL
Have a good laugh young fella, but one day you'll be telling the young people at work that you remember when gas was only $5 a gallon and you could get a great burrito for $14.
I used to laugh at the hairstyles of the older generation in old yearbooks. They always come back and yes you will be wearing that same look.
I await McKennie being named to the Best XI at the World Cup. I thought I heard that his hairstyle was a combination of a distinguishing feature from Cuadrado, as well as a Harry Potter nod. He has a lightning bolt tattooed on his finger, and I thought it was in keeping with that.
